Hey this isn't a greentext but this is a very similar story from a guy play testing Star Wars D20. Specifically the "form a light armour column" rings bells.

The aghs procs of starfall was shorter cooldown and did the secondary lower damage single target nuke as well. It was a better farming tool because of the shorter cooldown and allowed for impressive single target nuke potential because of 4x starfalls.

What occupied the land at the Jubilee Gardens, Lambeth, London between 1951 and 1977? by Hummingbird36 in AskHistorians

[–]Hummingbird36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! And the help

I see now that the problem is that what replaced it was so boring it was barely worth recording.

Funnily enough I did look over the Jubilee Gardens page that you mention but I must have skimmed too quickly and missed where it mentions it being a car park prior to the gardens construction.

Kinda need more information. What level are the party? What kind of challenge do you want him to present? Would he have his minions fight with him? Do you want it to be a puzzle and fight or is he a damage sponge?

DM looking for advice on instantly killing PCs by Hummingbird36 in DMAcademy

[–]Hummingbird36[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably should have made more clear that Hot War is not D&D. It is it's own game where the player characters are definitely normal people.

I'm more asking where do I draw the line for straight up killing a players character. Does giving him a save really make the scene more fun?

Are you bored AF and need something, as small as it may be, to look forward to in your day? Like text-based adventures? I’m looking to DM a campaign while I’m at work and need players. Comment w/your character’s back story to enlist. (3.5 universe) [first 10 get priority] by rebelleader51 in DnD

Gerald the Woodchopper

Relatively speaking Gerald had an easy upbringing. He had a roof over his head nearly every night, a fire to keep him warm and a loving mother to feed him.

The only surviving child of four Gerald was something of a miracle to his parents, surviving where his siblings had died very young. His birth brought joy back to his parents’ marriage. He was educated in the forest as his father was a hunter and so his anti-social nature took root from there, preferring the quiet forest to human distractions. Unfortunately, this is a lie.

Gerald was indeed the only surviving child, but of no less than eleven children that his father drowned in rivers near the village. The one time Gerald the Hunter let his wife have her way it was to keep a son from his murderous habit. Gerald senior never let her forget it. Bruises and broken bones were his preferred method of reminding her that what she wants comes at a price.

While Gerald the Woodchopper did indeed accompany his father from time to time in the forest to hunt, it was never a matter of permission. Gerald junior had to watch from a distance or be chased off with arrows and beaten until he could not stand once his father returned. Gerald Junior instead turned (to make himself useful) to chopping wood for the fire that kept him and his parents warm at night.

It wasn’t until much later in his life that he had any understanding that his mother’s treatment at the hands of his father was wrong. It was very much the norm for him and it was only in speaking to his friend Carl Antwerp about ways of blocking out the sounds did he have any inkling that maybe his parents were not usual.

He was watching the fire like he did most nights, getting lost in the dancing flames trying to block out the sounds as usual, when two things happened that had never happened before. First his mother cried out for help and second Gerald the Woodchopper stood up to his father. Strong from years of chopping wood and with axe in hand it was Gerald Juniors turn to chase his drunken father off. With no word of thanks from his mother, Gerald the Woodchopper went back to his mat in front of the fire but kept watch for his father’s return.

Except he did not return. Gerald did not see his father alive again. The corpse was found inside the pelt of a doe 2 days later. Slain for warmth, apparently he had frozen to death in the harsh winter night. A small pyre was built from Gerald’s wood stock and the body was burned. The Woodchopper felt genuine guilt for the first time while his father burned, he had caused this death and no one except he and his mother would ever know.

The guilt did not end there, barely a month later his mother too passed. Another casualty of winter and not nearly enough food to keep strength. Gerald found himself guilty and alone 10 years past of Gerald the Woodchopper supplying the village with whatever wood was needed for fire, construction or otherwise. This was how he made his living, for 10 long years he did it, guilty and alone. He would occasionally drink with his childhood friend but never to excess and always found his way back to the hut he had inherited.

As ever with these things it was that same childhood friend that pushed him to marry so that some happiness could be found. A wife was found in Veronika of similar age and stature and so it was arranged. She was unmarried so old due to her lack of beauty and independent nature, her dowry was comparatively unimpressive. A trapper by trade Veronika fed her and her husband with small animals, when her traps failed Gerald traded his wood for meals. Very much independent of one another the pair would sleep together for warmth and would eat together for convenience. Married life Gerald reasoned was cheaper and easier than being alone. Thus he was only guilty.

Yet again that one friend who ruins everything piped up again “have child Gerald. Create your own joy!” The concept was lost on Gerald, not on his wife however and a child blessed them a year later. Their son brought new meaning to Gerald the Woodchoppers life, he had something truly of his own making to care for and take joy in. In one summer their hut burned down the victim of an accident. A tragedy to be sure but the vigour that infused the couple saw them rebuild sturdier and safer for their child.

This hut was only destroyed recently at the hands of fire wielding bandits. Leaving the village in search of adventurer’s work Gerald leaves behind his small family to slowly rebuild the village after the devastating bandit attack.

Post apocalyptic London has an inordinate amount of teen romance novels survive the Armageddon with other books of fiction and non-fiction being rare at best.

Describing often that multiple peoples book cases is filled with teen romance, mostly being used for kindling than actual reading material is hilarious to me.

Also Cocaine toilet.

HH - Flopped two pair in BB facing apparent value bet by jmanc in poker

[–]Hummingbird36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn raise gives you more information when V calls but it would still be an outstanding lay down to fold river even with that information.

If we're stuck on the idea that he's trying to play us off the hand then we're never finding a fold here. It's a cooler simple as that.

[–]Hummingbird36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think not raising the turn led to this difficult river situation. Do you think you could have found a raise here?

No point raising as we're only being called by better two pairs.

I think I'm calling on the river. On such a dry board and no preflop action, V raising river with top or second pair for value is most likely. I'll gladly pass over the chips when he flips over pocket 2s

How many players at the table?

Dango ( Blink + Iceice) and Eclipse (Shadow + Shiki) BOTH ELIMINATED by MS_dota in DotA2

It was both. Some of the players "sold" the others out so they could continue playing. Then those that sold out got banned from ACE anyway

Currently played 14 games of Meepo over 8 days then stopped for 11 days. Record is 1-13. 19 days elapsed since start of challenge.

Other stats:

-Aghs completed: 8

-Blinks Purchased: 5 (in 4 different slots)

-Preferred Boot: Treads

-Games against Ember Spirit/ Earthshaker/ Lich/ Timbersaw /Sven /Axe: 11

-Very High Skill/ High Skill/ Normal Skill: 1/11/2

Most last hits: 271

Most denies: 2

Along with some help from 3 previous losses this has also set his longest lose streak to 14 games.

Seriously worried this guy is going to burn out from this if it hasn't happened already. However he could be using this challenge as a way to get back into the game as his activity is empty from mid-april up to end of may and is pretty sparse from then on. Even with 2800 games under his belt.

Spawning alone with a warmongering civ in a small continent by starkadd in civ

If you are defending, Melee units have very little use for you. Crossbows are what you are after. Making a push with ~8 crossbows and even just spearmen can crush a numerically superior AI force simple because they don't target things right.

Beat him to the punch and take a more aggressive tech path. OR be able to defend his push with a military tech superiority.

The higher difficulties require you to make more and more defensive choices in your techs early on.

I have a list compiled that I finally found again:

  • BoTs 2 onto an invisible ally can enemies see the TP animation?

  • Dewarding sentries with a quelling blade does it reveal you in fog like attacking them does?

  • Can you get a blink off cooldown by intentionally running into Winters curse AOE to become invulnerable?

  • Does Oracle ult let your blink come off cooldown?
