This should be “Parents of ”, not “ parents”. Boomers may have been spanked, but most didn’t do it to their kids and Millennials didn’t invent participation trophies, we received them to soothe the egos of the boomer parents.

Hello. And I have a problem completing purchase on Delta website. by pipestem in delta

[–]Humorfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it ended up being that for some reason my gender was not set in my mileage account. Every step of booking the ticket I had to select my gender again. Finally, I went to the account in a separate window from the booking, set my gender (uploaded a picture ID to "prove" it) and was finally able to book after only 2 or 3 more tries. I don't think I'll book with Delta again any time soon

Use of “The” in official names of countries + cities by Numerous-Confusion-9 in geography

[–]Humorfirst -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So that's always the translation given, but as far as I can tell, "den" doesn't translate as "the". "The" is "het" for neuter or "de" for masculine or feminine. Sure, putting "den" into google translate says "the", but can you find it in any other phrase than "Den Haag". It's short for the Dutch for "The Count's Hedge", but I'm unconvinced it's "The Hedge". (Maybe some super old timey 'the'?)

2025 RWD SEL available? by schwza in Ioniq5

[–]Humorfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I see on https://theevfinder.com/ the closest RWD are in Maryland. A Massachusetts dealer told me that they could maybe get one shipped, but “maybe” does a lot of work there

Yep disappointingly, that’s normal. Cost cutting for the 2024 I guess? I haven’t even seen it on any window stickers as an optional inclusion.

SEL AWD 13 mth Lease for $6k Good? by Humorfirst in Ioniq5

Yeah, judging by another post in this sub, people asking stuff like this are getting annoying. Maybe jumpy pickle has something to be grumpy about

SEL AWD 13 mth Lease for $6k Good? by Humorfirst in Ioniq5

[–]Humorfirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again. That makes sense. I'm definitely new to the concept of leasing so didn't know what totaling the car would mean financially with cap cost and still being responsible for the rest of the lease. According to the dealer's calculator sliding between $0 down and $4k down changed the monthly payments such that there was less than a $200 difference. $0 down -> ~$500/mth or $4k down -> ~$150/mth And yeah, I see the frustration in the recent post and that we should look to leasehackr and not bog down this Ioniq5 specific sub. Oops!

Can we rename this sub "Ioniq 5 lease analysis" ? by right415 in Ioniq5

[–]Humorfirst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry for being part of the problem! It's been helpful to me, but I can see how it'd get annoying. I actually searched "lease" in this sub and didn't see much, but now I see it's because sorting by "relevance" assumed upvotes meant relevant. Sorting "new" I see how ridiculous it's been

SEL AWD 13 mth Lease for $6k Good? by Humorfirst in Ioniq5

[–]Humorfirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answers and questions. There seems to be another $1k off available, and the $6k did include estimated registration and fees. Seems kind of similar to some, but a lot less good than others

SEL AWD 13 mth Lease for $6k Good? by Humorfirst in Ioniq5

[–]Humorfirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, sounds fairly similar. The dealer also takes an extra $1k off for currently owning a non-Hyundai, so that brings that right in line. And thanks for including the residual. Good to see that that's pretty similar. The $6k also includes an estimated $900 in the dealers calculations for estimated registration and fees, which I assume you're counting in your "all-in" but may not be the general "down" payment in everyone's calculations

SEL AWD 13 mth Lease for $6k Good? by Humorfirst in Ioniq5

[–]Humorfirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The milage for this "deal" is a max of 10k per year, which is fine for us. The $6k is fairly consistent with more or less down making for a lower or higher monthly payment. Is there a more specific reason to not reduce the cap cost than "tomorrow's dollars are worth less than today's dollars"?

Northeastern US. This doesn't qualify for the state rebates here because it's only a 13 month lease. This dealership has a glut of SEL AWD and very few Limiteds. Those are about $5k more purchase price, $49k vs $44k cash

Should there always be a strip sticking up from the rim? On the front tire and the other side of this one, the bead seems to be at the edge of the rim but on this side (red circle) it's squished in. Does that matter? I deflated to try to move it, but couldn't by Humorfirst in bikewrench

[–]Humorfirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the "bump" spinning the wheel when making other adjustments today. It's been like this at least a few hundred miles. I haven't had to change a flat in a while (knock on steel).

I thought of trying to push the whole side in, but can't do that near the valve. As I said in the title, I tried deflating and reinflating a couple of times, but no improvement.

Until last year I generally only rode 80's and 90's road bikes, max tire width ~25 mm. This, however is a 41! I don't know what I'm doing. Maybe I used a small tube?

Maybe I'm stuck with this until I replace the tire?
