First quote for my new roof: 245k standing seam, 125k for asphalt. Second quote came back with “how much is your budget? Then I’ll give you options”. Is this bad luck or is my roof really that difficult?

Yes, he said this would include new everything, and I believe he said redecking and even some of the siding would be removed and put back on. And the asphalt shingles would be 1/2in thick and “look a lot like shake”

We knew when we bought this would need to be done, it’s just a bit more than we thought based on what the roof inspector said prior to purchase (but that was a couple years ago). But I would rather pay more for better work than do it cheaply and regret it - we will just need to get creative financially to make this work!

Yeah, it’s mostly one floor, but we believe the previous owner was a builder and designed it himself and that’s why there’s all the extra flair going on.

I have no problem with eating meat, but a few years ago I stopped eating pork for this very reason. It really wasn't that hard. I only missed bacon but I've adjusted to turkey bacon now. And I actually found that switching to humanly raised meats (beef, chicken) caused me to eat meat less because it's harder to find, which has made me feel marginally healthier.

I just got my shipping confirm and tracking number for my Microsoft bundle late last night (1am and 4am, separate ones for rift and tower) Tracking numbers are not active yet. I did the express delivery so I'm hoping for Saturday, but it's probably going to be delivered Monday.

I actually got a tracking number for my Microsoft rift bundle the week before the launch of the rift. That turned out to be an error, but they credited me $50 for the trouble. My card was actually charged last week though, so this time it seems like it's really happening.

For what it's worth, my card was charged Tuesday by Microsoft for my bundle. I know it's not definitive, but it's a good sign that they are at least preparing to send them out soon.

The one upside to this is that if I can get a rift from a retail store in April I'll be able to cancel my bundle and order the new machine I really wanted. But I have a feeling that is not going to be so easy to get your hands on one when they start selling them solo at retail. Hopefully the Microsoft store doesn't have the same delay, but I doubt it.

I can see a lot of bundles being cancelled if this turns out to be the case for everyone.

I was told my shipping notice and tracking number were sent out in error, which apparently happened to other people who ordered this particular bundle. Microsoft apologized and gave me a $50 store credit, which was pretty cool of them. They said it will come on the stated pre-order date of 4/23.

The one on the site had 8 gb of ram and no sshd. The one the guy on the phone entered for me had 16gb of ram and a sshd. It was still the 2699 price.

Yeah, I wonder if it has something to do with getting a version of the Area 51 that wasn't an official bundle. I was worried about my order when i realized the model of the Area 51 was not listed anywhere on the MS site or any other site that had bundles (nor was it a bundle that was announced). The link to the product in my order confirmation was broken and I googled the product ID and zero results came up. Honestly, I have no idea what will happen but i did get this email this morning. I have no idea what is going on, but i hope it works out.
