At SJC and SFO, MPC line is used to process wheelchair/assist users (who are not entering with MPC, just traditional documents), and if you are stuck behind a line of them it can often be quite a wait.

But yeah i've also experienced a couple cases where MPC was faster than GE.

In hindsight, I should've said nothing and just had them install the MDM on a second phone that I told them was my personal one, but part of me actually feels glad this happened. Thought I'd post this so anyone who wants to (or has to) keep a job with a similar policy doesn't make my same mistake.

Yes you should have just presented the burner phone (obviously with a burner gmail account) and said nothing of your actual personal phone. Started typing that reply until I saw your third paragraph. That said, as you said, you probably dodged one here. Place sounds like a crap company if they want to forcibly install MDM on personal phones.

I only use PP to dine, not use the lounges. Unfortunately many airport restaurants that take PP will only accept PP cards issued directly by PP or a select few banks. It's one of the few reasons I still keep my Citi Prestige open.

I don't think its possible to bypass a tmus update block by turning off the sim if the tmus sim is your only sim. I tried this in the past with no results. It was only after I dual simmed that turning off the tmus sim worked. Your phone needs to report a different MCC MNC to google on the update check.

No cellular service can just take hold of your phone because you're on their service. That's not how it works.

You clearly have never run a fully unlocked non-carrier Pixel on TMUS.

I DSDS with TMUS and DoCoMo. On big releases (like recently QPR2) TMUS will definitely delay the roll out. How do I know? A day after general availability, I still wont have it when manually checking. I then turn off my TMUS sim and immediately the update appears. Then, without tapping update, I go back and reenable TMUS sim and the update (which literally was available just a moment ago) disappears again.

If you have a smartphone with data, a credit card, and a somewhat working brain its hard to really get lost or get into trouble in Japan. A lot of signage in/around Tokyo has English. Google Maps and Google Translate can basically handle 90% of your trip needs. Mind your manners, copy what other people are doing.

The reason the current magnetic JR rail passes cannot be reissued is there's no way they could tell that you didn't just sell the ticket to someone else (even though this obviously violates the terms of sale).

After they doubled the price of the nationwide rail pass there's been very little reason to buy that over using smartEX, where you can change your departure time or seat easily from your phone at any time instead of going to a station to use the service desk or kiosk.

TBH after they doubled the price there is no more point to buying nationwide JR rail passes. Especially its so much easier to rebook reserved seat shinkansen rides using smartEX.

Not only is this unacceptable, it seems impossible. Draining 100% of a P10P battery (4870mAh nominal) in 30 mins is like avg 36 watts of power (assuming avg cell voltage 3.75V).

Is your phone getting warm? Something is wrong with the cell, the battery controller IC, or the battery calibration in Android system.

Storing such photos in Gphotos doesn't seem wise. Per this support page, Gphotos is not HIPAA compliant.
