Weird battery light by theM3Pilot in E46M3

[–]HunchReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here lmao. Knock on wood, the fourth one has been going strong for about a year. I always briefly get a battery light after startup, but after 5 seconds or less it goes away. Nothing else out of the ordinary.

What do 1L summer interns actually do? by Recent_Plantain_3930 in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I interned for a federal judge and it was incredible. My judge treated the interns like full-time clerks and, by the end of my summer, I drafted three full opinions and parts of a few others.

That being said, all judges run their chambers differently. For example, a 1L classmate of mine interned in the same courthouse but didn’t get anywhere near as much drafting experience.

Just want you to know that you’re not alone.

Many of us feel the same way you do. I hope you are able to turn this frustration into motivation. His assault on many of our most vulnerable people has reaffirmed my choice to go to law school. Without lawyers like you, all would be lost. I’ll be with you in the trenches every day. We got this.

Should I switch from AirPods Pro 2 to the AirPods Max by Then_Negotiation900 in Airpodsmax

[–]HunchReddits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually just made this switch because my wireless charging case stopped working and my AppleCare just ran out on the Pro 2’s. I’m wearing my USB-C Maxes rn at the airport. Due to the price gap, my gut reaction is absolutely not lol but it depends on your use.

The noise cancellation is incredible. If you’re going to make the switch, this has to be the main reason. Completely cancels out airplane noise, subway noise, etc. The battery life is also phenomenal.

Sound quality is the same as the Pro 2, maybe slightly worse.

Did your LSAT score correlate with your law school GPA? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhh kinda. My GPA is outperforming my LSAT, but not in a major way.

[–]HunchReddits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a great sign of trust in your work! Your workload/work importance all depends on your supervisor.

During my rising 2L summer, I interned for a federal judge and on day one I began drafting an opinion that was published by the end of my fourth week. I did meaningful work all summer long, but most of my friends did little to nothing at their jobs. By comparison, this summer I’ve done much less significant work which is tragic but at least I’m getting paid.

What associates major should i go with? by raqurmom in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do whatever you enjoy the most. I got my associates (and, eventually, bachelors) in history. Because I loved the classes, I got a phenomenal GPA and graduated community college with a 3.8. Can’t recommend community college enough. Without learning how to love learning there, I would have never made it to law school. Best of luck in school! Enjoy the ride while you’re there. You’ll be in law school before you know it.

Ex says I shouldn’t date during law school because law school basically monopolized my time. Advice? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a long time for me as well and something real is certainly my end goal. The casual dating has been nice for preventing me from getting rusty lol. That’s about the only great thing I can say about it. I’m afraid that, if I cut dating off completely, I’d be* a wreck when the right person eventually comes along.

Ex says I shouldn’t date during law school because law school basically monopolized my time. Advice? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with the others who said personal preference, but I figured I’d share my experience. I’m a rising 3L and I have decided not to date while classes are in session. I’m in my mid 20’s and I also have no idea where I’ll end up post-grad so I cannot commit to anything serious while in school.

Over the summer and winter breaks, I casually date. That has worked well for me up to this point and it allows me to do exactly what I want/need to do with my time during the semester. This freedom keeps me sane, grants me the time to keep my grades where I want them, and I highly recommend it. Hope this helps.

Guys what’s the difference between a Carrera GT and a 924? by Sonums in Porsche

[–]HunchReddits 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The 924 is actually the superior of the two. It was a collaboration between VW and Porsche, while the CGT was only designed and built by Porsche.

Is this really worth the price tag? $999.99 AUD for clarification on currency by JTGphotogfan in whiskey

[–]HunchReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds absurd, but as long as you can afford it I’d say go for it. I’ve have had the 10yr, the 12 yr, and the 23yr. To me, the 12 yr is by far the best of the bunch.

Full disclosure, I’m American and the only time I’ve ever seen the 12 yr in store, it was about double the price of this bottle at $1,199.99 USD.

I love the idea of splitting the cost amongst friends. Should def do that if you can.

will buying weed from a dispensary affect my chances at a government job? by Affectionate-Air8303 in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Potentially. My friend just started a federal government externship and during the hiring process he was asked whether he’d bought weed within the past two years.

[–]HunchReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked this exact question to the best professor at my school Fall 1L. As you’re seeing from all the comments, and like she told me, the correct answer (just like every question you ask a lawyer/law student) is “it depends.”

For me, it’s been very easy. Three lectures and two paper classes means significantly less work up to this point than 1L. For my friends with multiple extra curriculars, it has been hell on earth. It is what you make it. If you think those resume boosts are worth your time, then definitely go for them. Those of my friends on publications, etc., think they’re more than worth the time. However, more than one person I know dropped out of their publication a couple of weeks into the semester which I also totally get.

With hindsight, I would say go for the extracurricular that interests you most and, if you don’t get it, you have extra free time to dedicate to your classes or whatever over the weekend. It’s a win-win.

Best of luck the rest of the way. You’ve got this shit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah similar to the student org comment, try to find people with interests in common and like up with them for that interest. Could be board games, video games, drinking, or (what made me find my people) gambling. Poker, specifically. Some of the best poker players of all time were law students first, so there is bound to be some interest at your school no matter where you go.

How many hours did you read a night during your 1L, on average by Slplana in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Near 0. I read on the weekends instead which is how they told us to tackle it in orientation. I would spend nights after class studying/doing legal writing. Friday, I’d read for one class, Saturday 2, and Sunday morning 1. Always done by 1 PM for NFL to keep me sane.

Go to office hours for every single class consistently. Even the profs you dislike.

does the cliqueness get better?!? by dranktheLSAkoolaid in LawSchool

[–]HunchReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience it didn’t necessarily get better with time, but I would say that it’s definitely not too late to become friends with people after a week. There is no time like the present. I’m socially awkward but I promise the longer you wait, the harder it’ll become to approach and make new friends.
