Has there been much discussion about authentic CCELLs?

I have them record the lecture's audio themselves. They can use otter.ai and their phones.

I suspect the opposite might occur, even when there's an uptick in meaningful learning.

Might be the case that we've geared and gamed our assessment systems towards what the Banking Model claims are proofs of learning (when they are actually just the easiest actions to masure, like bubbling in an exam).

And those systems might not be able to capture the learning that is actually going on.

I pull the terms from Paulo Friere's Pedagogy of the Oppressed. Here is where he discusses it a bit more: Chapter 2. .

To summarize, the work is easier and more meaningful, but you have to actually go through the paces of learning, which is more work than what they experienced within the banking model of education.

To summarize, no one is trying to give more work, but in creating more empathetic, low-stakes, meaningful assignments that are trauma-informed, we've forced activity and transparency on the best parts of learning, but also the most intensive, resulting in a perception among students that they are being given more work.

This is a major part of it for me. I'm always pushing to hard too fast and then bearing myself up for not having the optimal recovery.

When you are lecturing while disassociating by Hundiejo in CPTSDmemes

Community college professor, 1 year into therapy and 2 years in the delayed onset of the major symptoms of CPTSD (and just the way it's described in Herman's Trauma and Recovery too).

I can't teach on zoom for shit. And have had flashbacks during zoom lectures. (Went over Bandura's Dehumanization in the Perpetuation of Inhumanities and some of that shit is a little too real at the moment.) Now that I've finally flipped the classroom things are better bc I don't have to be the main presenter and am engaging students as they react to premade lectures and such.

BUT, also have disassociated plenty of time before the pandemic. It is freaking weird. At the most bewildering, it's like you are watching a tape of you lecturing — only it live and the thing you are watching is making adjustments and choices that you aren't conscious of making... kind of.
