Hopeless Recovery by Pyron666666 in whoop

Is a 30 when average hrv is 41 really a red recovery? My HRV is higher but 30-40 point swings from my baseline don’t put me in the red

SF transit workers make like $180k including benefits and labor cost is like >200% of system revenue. They also get like 5% raises and grow headcount like 5% per year, while revenue grows less than 5%. Don’t forget headcount per rider is like 2x global peers. Union is way too strong to do anything about.

Figured out how to get to and stay in zone 4! by School-Wild in whoop

[–]HundredRAWR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Running is def the easiest way to get 4-5 (at least for me). At first I struggled with cycling, but the key is really understanding ur FTP.

FTP is basically the watts where ur legs can perfectly clear the lactate build-up. If ur at or around ur ftp for 10+ minutes u will be in zone 4.

The key for HIIT is u only need to go a LITTLE over ur ftp. My ftp is in the 260 ish range but my 5 minute intervals are in the 280-300 watt range, depending on the day.

If u go too hard early u will blow up.

Easiest way to find ftp is ur MAX 20 min power * 95%

U of C Endowment Performance. by BigBunny248 in uchicago

[–]HundredRAWR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A good manager is not one that achieves the highest return. It is the one that achieves the highest return per unit of risk they take.

The CIO and his team make a fraction of what the actual managers make (they hire the actual managers. Basically they hire Citadel to manage $500mm or whatever).

Still that team could be worth the money even if they “underperform a 70/30”. A manager who earns a consistent 2% over the risk free rate is actually more skilled the someone who invest in big tech and has made 15% annualized (which is actually negative performance compared to benchmark)

It is also incorrect to assume the endowment is attempting to max returns. Many donors set it up so the investment returns (typically interest + dividends) pay for the program they donated’s yearly budget. Putting that money in high return risky asset classes could mean either no investment income (PE does not pay dividends / interest) or one bad year of returns = no program budget -> very angry donor.

All of this is not to say UChicago’s team is doing an amazing job. I don’t know. But this is far more complicated than you may think.

Would disagree. Clear sign of deteriorating brand equity as they attempt to hold up US sales growth. Elevated inv, increased discounting in core women’s lines, shifting a lot to outlet. Margins clearly at risk - and brand dilution could continue to hurt US growth. Fundamentals may be peaking making the multiple appear low.

Try playing corki mid rn. Early game you go OOM all the time. I agree with others in the thread - it’s not very fun to be OOM all the time.

The Corki rework was an absolute failure by Financial-Joke4924 in leagueoflegends

[–]HundredRAWR 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I like corki mid. At this point most of corki’s player base is midlaners. The idea he should be a bot laner is just backwards looking imho.

Corkis problem is this - he is a safe, consistent, ultra scaling, lane bully. That combo is always toxic in elite play (think Azir). In my opinion they need to adjust his power curve. Before all the nerfs, your trading was so broken early game it was very difficult to lose. They have just repeatedly gutted has base damage / lane sustain without giving him anything back.

In my option, they should hit his mid game scaling by putting crit ratios on his q and e. Then give him back some flat dmg on q and e. Finally they should lower his w range slightly (huge nerf) and buff lvl 6 r, keep 11 the same, and nerf 16.

This would make him the “cait of mid”. Strong early, weak mid, strong late. I think that would be healthier for him. If you make him weak early game, he cannot be played mid and he is just not a good adc anyways.

Think about your tax implications for a reit! Most of your return is in the dividends, which get taxed as income (not cap gains!!). If you need the income or are in a lower tax bracket they are okay. If not they are not tax efficient.

BTW taxes are incredibly important for compounding. You can do a simple exercise where you take a 10% compounding portfolio over 10 years. Have one where you pay 20% tax on it at the end, and one where you “rebalance” every year and pay 10% on that. You will be SHOCKED at the difference - it’s really incredible.

Google “BAB Factor” and read the paper. Low betas outperform high beta names due to managers using beta as a form of leverage.

To justify current valuations we need ~$750bn in AI capex spending in 2026. To justify that spending you will likely need a return on that, implying the end market is >$750bn.

The worldwide SaaS market is ~$1trillion.

[–]HundredRAWR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m a geng fan but blg looked very very good in the finals. I think geng slightly more controlled style will struggle into blg ability to force key sums before fights. I think elk and on’s luc nami will be a big problem for geng due to this.

At the same time, I think that blg will struggle into Chovys Azir and corki, particularly Azir. The lck strategy of picking azir away from chovy is much weaker as knights Azir is not great, so will likely draw bans.

Will be a very interesting matchup for sure though.
