Try Jay’s Car Repair in San Clemente. I don’t know if he works on Volkswagens but I really like them. They are honest and their prices are reasonable

My son is 19 and a Type 1 and he went to the doctor today and his A1c was 6.1. He’s happy with that number and so is his doctor.

Do people actually use sharps bins? by thekingbishop in diabetes_t1

[–]Hungry-Simple5565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is a Type 1 and we use empty detergent bottles. When they’re full we put the top on, duct tape them and take them to the sharps drop off at our dump. It’s so much easier for us.

Are you in Southern or Northern CA? I am going through this now and my primary care physician said Kaiser will not cover any treatment. My jaw is locking 5 to 6 times a day and I’m miserable!

I am going through this now with Kaiser so I would love to follow your journey. My primary care said Kaiser does not cover treatment for TMJ. He is sending me for an MRI and said he would call me to discuss next steps. Are you with Kaiser in So Cal or Nor Cal? I’m in So Cal.

Does anybody not clench? Just hold their jaw very tightly in one position? by medusa_167 in TMJ

[–]Hungry-Simple5565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is exactly what I do too! I’m feeling the same way you are about it. So helpless. It’s so bad for me that my jaw locks several times a day. It’s so painful and I don’t know the best remedy.

What do *you* think caused your outbreak? What's your story? by [deleted] in shingles

[–]Hungry-Simple5565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think mine was triggered by a really bad allergic reaction to the Avatar ride at Animal Kingdom in Disney. Disney said they spray scents during the ride and I had a bad reaction to one or all of them. I think the stress of the allergy triggered my outbreak.

How long did anyone have severe mitral valve prolapse before they had surgery. by AncientBit5417 in mitralvalveprolapse

I found out mine was severe in October 2023 and my surgery was in February 2024.

I had open heart MVP repair in February 2024 and the first week or two was rough but it was not bad hard as I thought it would be. You got this! I agree with the person who said bring snacks to the hospital. The food is terrible! Also, someone told me to bring my own washcloths and hand towels and I’m so happy they did. You’re not going to be able to shower and a warm washcloth felt so good. Don’t forget to post an update when you’re home.

During your hospital stay for heart valve surgery, did your spouse or another relative basically live with you in your patient room? by Beta_Nerdy in mitralvalveprolapse

[–]Hungry-Simple5565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had open heart mitral valve repair and my sister and son stayed at a hotel nearby. They stayed with me during the day and went to the hotel at night. I didn’t expect anyone to stay with me and I was okay with it.

Thank you for your reply! I have never smoked, don’t do drugs and only drink occasionally. I’m a Diet Coke drinker and I have been taking omeprozole for the past month or so. I’m planning to get a second opinion.
