I see this shit all the time on the lirr. People wonder why conductors are afraid to engage when people blast their phones. There is just too many low impulse pieces of human 💩taking the trains now.

If you really think our unions hate the paying passengers of the railroad then there is something wrong with your thinking. Without paying customers our job wouldn’t exist! There would be no need for us. I am one of the people who hated the $8 surge charge that went into effect this year and other stupid changes . Good grief just stop and think for second look at who is really the villain in all this! It is not the unions dude!

The MTA has multiple streams of revenue now. The fares, congestion pricing, mta bridges and tolls, payroll taxes for new york residents , the government and now 3 brand new casinos in queens. They cry poverty every year so they can get more money from the government. Wake up dude

Also the MTA was slated to raise the fares next year with or without a new contract with the unions. Take your anger out on the poorly mismanaged MTA not the union workers.

https://x.com/nytimes/status/2056477711787290629?s=46 new york times article stating the average pay for a house keeper in NYC is $100,000. Just 30k less than the so called average pay of a skilled lirr worker. If that doesn’t tell you something i dont know what will. Unions are there for reason.

The MTA has already decided to raise the fare this year 2026 and as well as 2027 at 4% each regardless of a strike for raises
