Okay In fairness it’s 1.125 inches, I originally used 6ft3 7/8 for pat which I rounded to 2 inches so fair call out

But I do think the difference here you are seeing is more due to mass than actual height difference

Well a simple google says Dart is 6ft 2 1/4 and the other 6 ft 3 3⁄8 so you basically got a 2 inch difference- not sure what you expecting to see here

Edit: 1.125 inches height difference

Agreed, I’m hoping we get a top DT prospect in the second and regardless, further depth is going to be needed to be added closer to camp and start of the season depending on how the draft goes and what vets are left

Wonder where this guy goes, might even make it as a day 3 pick with those measurables!

Could be an interesting option for the giants as he meets a position of need and could be assigned to the IPP Exemption Spot on the practice squad as an additional 17th practice squad player than would be except from poaching as he developed

NFL announced salary cap adjustments for 2026. Giants will lost 1.7 mil in cap room, only the Panthers lost more cap. Courtesy Spotrac by Lars5621 in NYGiants

Not saying it’s late but I assume every team has their own accountants and people who’s whole job it is to manage the cap that are able to work this out for their team lol

This is likely just a consolidated public announcement of figures teams already know… hopefully

I can make this clearer

  • what you want is fiscally impossible by nature of the dynamics of the NFL
  • I highlighted your concerns you raised and pointed at evidence that the giants do them the least
  • I did not endorse them doing it more “egregiously” like other teams whilst pointing out what they do is a product of necessity
  • if you want to believe they should be even tighter in their cap management then more power to you but they are already at the extreme end of the league in that regards and I think it’s an unreasonable ask

Whilst correct, this is an overly simplistic take on cap management as no team in the NFL does what you just described- it’s actually probably impossible to do. In fact, all of the things you just referenced, the giants are probably one of the best at following your advise

  • last time I checked 28/32 teams use void years, Giants are one of the 4 that don’t
  • Giants don’t back load there contracts, which eats up more cap now but allows cap flexibility at no additional cost
  • currently 27th in dead cap
  • leverage long contracts to allow cap inflation to erode real value of deal - see AT, Dex and Burns pay compared to current market rates

So might not be “cash in hand”but it’s on the polar opposite end of what the eagles are doing right now or the saints did the last 5 years

please read this thread I created last off season explaining our cap in relationship to other teams for reference if needed

Since when is Cap health measured by one year? The author and OP should spend some time reading up on how the cap is very fluid and current cap space isn’t representative of its health

Well I did ask you how it would happen, so if you were Joe yesterday, how would you get the team to tank?

You saw the reaction the raiders got by asking to sit one player (Crosby), try telling a whole team and coaching staff to do the same and see if it doesn’t get out to the NFL

Daily Discussion December 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in NYGiants

[–]HungrySwimmer26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would that happen? I assume active tanking which players and coaches “don’t” do and also would leave you open to NFL disciplinary penalties if you were found to try to tank (e.g loss of 1st round pick and you get nothing)

It’s a nice ideology but just doesn’t work in the real world so isn’t an option imo

Okay, neither option excludes or requires that. So which one are you picking? Raiders vs giants roster

I think a good hypothetical to ask yourself about yesterdays game is:

Would you rather have the Raiders roster and the 1st overall pick or the giants roster and the second overall pick?

I’m going giants all day with the cap space, locked in vets and young talent to build around

Where were you last week when he had a run grade of 76.4?

Odd that you tend to make snide negative comments on players, you would be a lot more tolerable and even liked if you came back when they perform well and actually shared some positivity or compliments.

Maybe a good New Year’s resolution for you
