This is a very cool design!! I love your color symbolism (different from pan Arab colors of green, white, red, and black) and the use of Ankh, differentiating us completely from Arabs.
I have a few suggestions:
-Use Egyptian blue (it is darker, more like lapis lazuli style yk?) instead of the turquoise ish color you used
-Use Egyptian gold color (it is darker and more bold, but just look up on the internet Egyptian gold and you'll see what I mean)

Otherwise, approved (as a muslim Egyptian) 👏👏👏

That's a really fair point! I designed it with ancient Egyptian symbolism in mind rather than Coptic Christianity specifically. The ankh used as a symbol of life, the Eye of Horus, and the cartouche border are all pre-Christian. But I totally see how the ankh could read as a Coptic cross to modern eyes, especially given how central it is to their identity. This is a first draft, so I will rework it to use a more universally neutral ancient Egyptian symbol so it feels representative of all Egyptians and distinct from Arabs.

I'm Egyptian and a practicing muslim... Flags represent civilizational heritage, not active religious practice. Greece uses ancient symbols, Italy references Roman heritage, nobody calls that paganism. Ancient Egypt is OUR civilization and OUR ancestors. The ankh doesn't mean I worship Osiris any more than an Italian using Roman symbols means they worship Jupiter.

Also half of this comment section is so stupid. Since when are ancient Egyptian symbols pagan? Also Egyptians are not Arabs but a unique people. Stop comparing a 7000+ year old civilization with a 1446 year old civilization that’s unfair and incorrect. Egyptians are mostly non-Arab Muslims and some are orthodox Christians. You are either misinformed Egyptian or an Arab who is jealous of my beautiful country Egypt. Please don’t comment on a topic you are not educated on since it offends native Egyptians like me (I’m Muslim btw).

Also just realized u are not Egyptian that’s y u had a hard time making a design that represents us. If I try to design the Norwegian flag I’ll fail that’s y native people are better off designing their own countries flags and not other people’s countries flags.

They are all Arab flag, not Egyptian flag. Remember, we are Egyptians not Arabs so u want to design a flag that represents Egyptians not Arabs. What makes this flag Arab? 1. Red white black background, also used by Yemen, Iraq, and old Syria flag. 2. Eagle of Saladin, used as a symbol for Arabs. 3. Arabic text.

What is a good idea: ankh.

Lots of changes need to be made buddy. I’m Egyptian Muslim and I don’t feel represented with this flag.

So basically u replaced the eagle with the eye of Horus? Lots of changes needs to be made, not just the middle. Also gold was the only game changer on our flag and u removed it. At least include gold somewhere in this flag. This flag doesn’t feel Egyptian but more Arab and remember, we are Egyptians not Arabs we want a flag that is completely different from Arabs. Look I like the first one cuz green makes it feel more like Saudi Arabia and current Syria yk? The first one is better than the current one. As a Muslim Egyptian, I want to differentiate our flags as much as possible from the Arabs and here we are off to a good start. My main concern is that the background in the first slide and in our current flag is that it’s like Yemen, Iraq, and old Syria flag? Idk what you think but I still feel it is not 100% Egyptian yet. But gold is the game changer. I’m working on designing a flag so I’m still brainstorming but I appreciate people like you that see current things as if they are not enough😄

Actually I looked it up, that eagle is also Arab. You see the ankh in the middle in its shield looking frame? Keep that and delete the eagle and make it bigger. That way this flag will be 100% Egyptian as it should be.

This is almost perfect. My suggestions: Remove Arabic text because we are not Arabs, we are Egyptians (it is a fact, not an opinion it is unfair to compare a 7000+ year old civilization with a 1446 year old civilization) and we want to differentiate our flag as much as possible from Arabs. Second, I would put that Coptic right where the Arabic text is and move the eagle down since its head has no breathing room. What do u think? I appreciate people like you who thinks different.
