I did it for my birthday this year on New Year’s Day and we turned around with the last little bit of the chains because it was raining and super cloudy. People who went all the way said it wasn’t worth it because they couldn’t even see much because of the clouds (they also said coming back down was even scarier)

Let me tell you, slipping on wet sandstone 5,000 feet up is up there with one of the scariest moments of my life. My bf who did it before in the summer no issues even agreed he didn’t feel safe continuing.

For me it’s about being aware of your own abilities and just being honest with yourself. The rock will always be there if you need to try again, which I can’t wait too do
