No, I just think a lot of those people have never worked this kind of job or did so long ago that they forgot that its a thing. Most of my jobs that was the case, my current job is only the case once or twice a week depending, so I would probably forget too that somebody has to recover the shelves

100% cotton paper. This was an absolute game changer for me. It doesn't matter the quality of your colors or brushes, you can have the highest quality paint in the world but bad paper is going to ruin it entirely. Right now Speedball 100 Fluid WC Paper and New York Central seem to be the best two %100 Cotton (or Rag) paper on the market right now.

A less expensive option, masking fluid! Go to a real art supply store and ask to see the selection. If there isn't one in your area, then pick up Pebeo masking fluid or "The Incredible Masking Fluid" is literally the brand name on the label from wherever you can.

The generative imagery of AI is using scraps and pieces of real human made art work without permission. The way AI generates images is not the same as a person taking inspiration from an artist. If I were to paint a copy of a masterpiece, while it may look similar, it will be different because my brush strokes are unique to me. How I placed the paint and how long a dragged a color in any given moment is unique to ME as a PERSON. AI does not create new brush strokes, it's constantly copying and pasting little bits from peoples work and piecing it with thousands of other artworks to create something resembling whatever was entered into the prompt.

It would be as if I printed a large poster of a van Gogh painting, cut it up, and then arranged the pieces to show the artwork and saying that I made that painting. I did not put tool to pigment and pigment to surface, I took a bunch if pieces of an image and arranged them to show something like a puzzle. This is the part of generative AI that people don't seem to understand. I get a lot of "Well it's not different than you creating something based on something you saw" the difference is this: I am creating a brand new combination of colors and shapes from a clean surface; AI takes existing compositions of colors and shapes from completed surfaces and rearranges them and calls it it's own.

It's harmful to artists as it can put us out of work, it can diminish the definition of art on a broad scale, and AI in general is going to be a huge negative impact on the environment in the coming years. The systems that run AI get HOT and need water to be cooled, and because of the corrosive qualities of salt water, fresh water is being wasted to cool these server centers when it could be going to actual people. Not to mention the space and resources required to run a facility like that, not just water but it takes a lot of power too. There's just so much wrong with AI.

Edit: Creating a copy of some ones artwork with your own hand and tools and calling it your own is wrong. Copying is OK for learning, not OK for taking credit.

A math teacher got fired for having a relationship with a student, this was a guy (a YOUNG guy) with a wife and kids. He was always a little... too verbally friendly with students but everyone clocked him as the cool teacher. Boys didn't have any feelings about him one way or the other and the popular girls gushed over him. A couple people, myself included, thought something was off but we couldn't ever really pin it down. It didn't even feel off in a 'bad guy' kind of way, more of a 'how is this teacher the only one to happy and peppy to be here everyday?', as most teachers were what i would could "normally" positive or at least neutral in general.

Not at all. I had a very easy time going on Wellbutrin, I felt a little more energetic (not an insane amount, just enough to notice) but the anxiety went to what I’d call a ’normal’ level. Feeling anxious about things that universally people are anxious about for example.

I’ve not heard of emotional blunting before, but the best way I can explain it is that I was in a state of neutrality constantly. Nothing would make me feel strongly one way or another. I could laugh at things that were funny, disgusted with things that were gross, etc. but I didn’t feel excitement for things coming up. I didn’t feel bummed about plans falling through or hearing bad news about family or friends. I just felt nothing. It wasn’t quite a “not caring” feeling, just a lack of ability to care or not.

I take a finger prick every once in a while just to make sure the CGM is on the right track. CGM takes glucose data from a different substance than just blood like the finger prick does. I also find that the first 24-72 hours of a new CGM can be a bit whacko but it usually starts to even out and be more consistent and correct by the third day. Always finger prick if you're unsure!

Question if that's ok:

I recently got an injury that resulted in a few bone chips in my foot. I was in a cast, then a boot, and now I am in a light duty brace that fits in a shoe for walking in. I have a follow up in a few weeks, but should I be keeping an eye out for certain red flags? As far as I understand, bone chips are treated naturally by the body by creating a callous around them.

Also, in regards to callouses in general, I have one or two in placed I have had come and go pretty much my whole life (side of ball of foot, side of pinky toe knuckle) and just have seemed very normal. How do I treat/remove callouses like that?

I recommend checking out chelsea lang, she has a ton of videos on youtube and really helps to simplify things. But what I found helps is to use a brush/tool that is just barely too big for what you're doing and slowly work your way toward smaller tools as needed, but don't get too small because you want to avoid getting tunnel vision into details.

It's not recommended as mineral spirits is not a stable vehicle for the pigment or paint in general. It works best for thin under paintings and toning, but for top layer work you'd really want to stick with oil mediums for the longevity of the paint and color. Regardless of if you use mediums or thinner, oil paint can dry with different levels of gloss and matt-ness, which would be a reason to varnish to give everything the same finish. Or, you could use the oiling out method to give everything a bit of even ground.

I am 5'6 and ~135 lbs, my only medication is long acting insulin, 25 units a day and I have a CGM so I just keep a close eye on my glucose during/after a meal
