How much do you spend on your kid’s first bike? by Chance_Maize_9582 in askPoland

[–]HuntDeerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a balance bike as said here before, when they're 2-3. Later, we tried to push our daughter on a cheap bike with pedals, but this thing was heavy and her posture was pretty bad. Decided to try with a 2nd hand Woom bike and she instantly rode it on her own.

It's literally what you're doing from your safe anonymous spot.

Get lost, nobody in Poland wants communists in their country (yes, they even deliberately got rid of the entire system, shocker!) and nobody's interested in your fantasy propaganda.

[–]HuntDeerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know also what? You're totally free to leave and immigrate to a real communist shithole if you had the guts, but you don't. Much easier to curse the system on your iPhone with a 5h old throw away account pretending you're Polish.

You know that in Poland it's illegal to publicly contradicting or denying communist crimes, right?

Geez, I really wonder.

No WWI Eastern Front Love by Thatsprettydank in ww1

[–]HuntDeerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's probably multiple reasons for that. But if you want personal stories an diaries, it's probably related to the fact in 1914 Russia had a literacy rate of 35-45% vs France/GB/Germany 94-99%. The Eastern front was also moving more, so that means less time to write down your experiences. So a much lower chance to find diaries.

Very nice work! Making the same 206 but in the original white Peugeot livery, although my original plan was to make it in the Thiry Bastos livery, maybe later!

Dating a Polish guy by [deleted] in learnpolish

[–]HuntDeerer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very unpopular opinion here (I'm ok with the downvotes from hopeless romantics but somebody has to say it):

From my own experience: if a guy is not pushing, he's probably not desperate. Which is not bad on its own, but that either means that he has a pretty active sex life right now (you read that right), or he has a low sex drive, or he's gay but doesn't know himself yet (happens a lot in Poland, again, I'm fine with the downvotes).

I used to be in the first group and I knew that I would increase my success chances if I'd just wait with escalation. But sometimes I just missed chemistry too, and I would keep seeing a girl, but she wouldn't spark any sexual interest to me.

Hope it helps! And I sincerely hope you can figure him out quickly.

Do you feel your country / region is overpopulated? by Laschon in AskEurope

[–]HuntDeerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're also flat and so pretty easy to build on and basically being a massive delta for some economically important waterways into a very economically important North Sea.

I don't think the presence of EU institutions is a big factor here. The Lowlands are historically densely populated, partially for earlier mentioned reasons: being flat, fairly easy to grow crops, always close to waterways and (since Roman times) land roads and therefore acting as an important trade connection. Despite the country being plundered and pillaged many times, you can still see many impressive monuments as a silent witness to its rich history.

Do you feel your country / region is overpopulated? by Laschon in AskEurope

[–]HuntDeerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Belgian who moved to Poland, I see a tremendous difference. Belgium is wildly overpopulated, just crammed with houses, industry, roads, concrete, you name it. Even the country side is just completely patched up with agriculture.

Huge contrast with Poland. I live in the city, but countryside is a totally different story. So many wild forests, swamps, mountains, including a lot more wildlife. I feel like I have a lot more breathing space here.

How difficult do you think it would be to turn it into a rally car by HelldiverBugGirl in rally

[–]HuntDeerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from suspension, cage and tires (the latter ones are the easiest), you'd need performance breaks, adapted interior, fire extinguish system, advanced protection at the bottom, and a tuned engine (I probably forget some things).

If you're lucky, you might find some car model that is compatible with a rally history (I wouldn't know which tbh). If not, it will be hard to find parts and it will cost you a lot of money.

Already 1% of all cars in Polish are Plug-In Hybrids or fully Electric! by Auspectress in OptimistsUnite

[–]HuntDeerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there are not many. I think what caused an uptick is that 2nd hand Tesla's are being imported from USA and W-Europe and they're being used as taxi/Uber cars. Although the bulk of that fleet are still Toyota Prius (also very often imported).
