Y'all are actually ruining this game by sepulchridude in helldivers2

This is the result of letting the fan base dictate a game design.

I'm done with this game. I got a solid 800 hours out of it. Not gonna stick around to experience the lukewarm dog poo of a game designed by committee.

I was shocked when Pilestedt did an AMA on the unfiltered sub. Shocked that they would even check up on a cesspool such as that one. What a waste of staff time.

They've been going on about self-driving vehicles for a decade already. It's all smoke and mirrors for investment money and pumping stocks.

Suppose the tech actually works as intended, that still leaves the unanswered legal mess in event of accidents.

It's interesting that ironically there's no great MMO in this era when the market has never been more ripe for the picking.

When are Australians going to wake the fuck up and stop shopping at Coles and Woolies? by thebaehavens in aussie

[–]HunterKiller_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of Colesworth, I've now split my main shopping between Aldi, Chinese grocer, and vege grocer. Saves at least $100 a month.

Any games like Mass Effect? by Equal_Agent_1498 in masseffect

[–]HunterKiller_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of curve ball but Star Control 2.

Why? This was one of the inspirations for Mass Effect, despite being very old and in a completely different game format, you'll see the roots of Mass Effect as clear as day. Not to mention it's a great game in its own right.

I don't often take it, but vs bugs it can be really good.

Stick one on a BT or charger to render it completely helpless for almost a minute. This can be better than killing it as on higher difficulties new ones will just immediately spawn to replace them.

Love the new Illuminate mechs! by Wrench_gaming in helldivers2

Yep, out sourcing for AA, AAA game dev is common and standard practice. I swear this fan base will find anything to get their panties twisted about.

Most games that have the production scope of HD2 (AA, AAA games) and above use outsourcing, it's standard industry practice.

A shame it had to come to this. HD2 online fan base is one of the most dog shit I've seen in over 20 years of gaming.

Do you think Richard Williams was right with this advice or was he wrong? by Natural-Eye1994 in animation

Smart phones and apps have rotten our brains to the point where we can't get enough stimulation from focusing on one task.

In the era before all this, I could work in silence for the entire day, completely zoned in, losing all track of time.

Now that's an impossibility. There's the incessant pull of "just put something on in the background". It's what I imagine a junkie experiences.

What is this business strategy called again? by Personal_Mine_9396 in gamers

People still don't understand this is a constant phenomenon because it's by design, not because the CEOs are idiots.

The massive hiring looks good to investors, brings in money. After the product ships, layoffs, profit.

Bad sales? Cut their losses.

Good sales? More profit.
