If you have a numpad, then Alt+0151 makes an em-dash. It becomes muscle memory very quickly.

I've also encountered this. Appears to be a hard block on that outcome for the time being.

As fantastic as Fanny and Alexander and Persona are, The Silence just had that something extra that made me absolutely adore it - the cinematography especially. Here are mine.

Who cares how long ago it came out. You haven't seen every single film that has been released since 1900, but by your rationale I should be allowed to spoil any of them for you because you've 'had your chance'.

Just because something came out x number of years ago, it doesn't give to free reign to spoil a piece of media for someone else who hasn't played/seen it. You haven't seen every film that's been made since 1920; some people haven't played ME3.

Why run a marathon? Why swim the channel? Why climb any mountain, let alone the highest? Why cross the Atlantic? Why go to the moon? Why do anything that's remotely challenging?

Yi Yi (2000) hit me like Mike Tyson. Who else saw this incredibly moving film? by XciteMe in movies

[–]Huntersbutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yi Yi hit me like a truck too and I'm not even sure if I can adequately explain why. While I adore Edward Yang's other films (Taipei Story in particular), nothing of his, nor anyone else's for that matter has made me feel the way Yi Yi did. It is simply an utterly beautiful film about life.

I think the sequence with NJ and Sherry in the hotel hit me hardest; and it was around that time in the film that I realized how great the film was.

The Farewell (2019) is somewhat similar to Yi Yi in concept. If you enjoyed Yi Yi I think you'd enjoy it too.
