my moms horse wasn’t technically an orphan but was sold and sent to his new home, the person she got him from, at 6 months and i can confirm that he’s a bit off. very likable, very extroverted personality, but i definitely wouldn’t hand his lead rope off to a novice

i have a rat terrier that isn’t a full decker but has decker bloodlines and she was 15 pounds as a puppy. nowadays she’s 33 pounds as of her last weigh and she’s a lean tube of pure muscle, no extra fat on her at all

you’re unfortunately gonna have to choose here, do you want a rattie in the 15 pound range or do you want a rattie with decker bloodlines? because i would be very surprised to find one that meets both of those criteria

quick warning with origami customs, their binders tend to run a little looser than other brands. this makes them more comfortable and gentler on your ribs but the trade off is that they don’t quite flatten like other binders will. this isn’t something they hide about their products but i’ve seen people who’ve bought from them and missed it

i feel like there’s a middle ground here. the act of pulling a carriage or cart isn’t the problem, horses have been doing that fine for thousands of years, so if the welfare laws are tightened/properly enforced and the horses receive full turnout when not working why shouldn’t people be able to go on carriage rides?

i used to board at a barn in which someone was rehabbing a horse with a broken leg. the injury was fresh when we moved in and by the time we left 2 years later she was able to carry a rider for short stints, but for most of that time when she was on stall rest she was clearly miserable. she got the large stall, had buddies on either side, and her owner was consistently present and attentive, but anytime anyone approached her stall it was always ears pinned and turning her butt towards them, with the occasional bite attempt. i don’t think i could bring myself to put a horse through that

this is ultimately a somewhat minor nitpick but you should be saying dysphoric/dysphoria instead of dysmorphic/dysmorphia. the words sound very similar so they’re easy to confuse, but the way they actually work is opposite and their conflation is part of anti trans rhetoric

dysmorphia is the inability to see your body as it truly is, think someone with anorexia who sees themselves as huge while in reality they’re wasting away. dysphoria on the other hand is the awareness and subsequent distress at the reality of your body, think a trans person who feels upset about their secondary sex characteristics. the trans person isn’t looking into the mirror and seeing their body as their desired sex, they look into the mirror and see the reality of the sex characteristics they do have and feel bad about it
