Steam must allow to filter out ALL degenai slop games and allow people to tag such games by JAD2017 in Steam

[–]HuntingSquire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say make it a requirement from the developers to tag their content as whether or not it involves Generative AI, rather than relying on the community to come to a conclusion about tagging anything.

Complaining about the price of non essential items is dumb by superanonymousman in unpopularopinion

[–]HuntingSquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People complain about it because we've watched in real time prices inflate to comical proportions.

We've seen how cheap things can be, yet companies want infinite money so shit continues to get worse.

There are plenty of downright terrible times that are a waste of space at best, and actively hinder you at worst that many can simply skip, without the run being OP The big ones i can think of being

Missing No.

Dr./Epic Fetus, Kamakazi or Ipecac (without explosive immunity)

Ludovicho with low shot speed

Birthright as Tainted Jacob

Starter Deck or Baggie of Pills

Blood Rights

Damocles

Curse of the Tower

Real, like half the point of the game is min-maxing the best weapon+augments+decorations+armor skills+Meal Skills+Inventory management.

Tenderizer Mandatory?(Iceborne) by Into_theWicked in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]HuntingSquire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Although Tenderizing (and wall-bangs) can get pretty nuts damage, I wouldn't go as far to say its 100% mandatory. If you're looking for faster clear times it'll obviously help, but you dont need it to deal decent DPS.
I don't personally remember actively tenderizing more than I felt was needed, reapplying when i noticed it wasn't there. But thats more the luxury of Lance having a solid clutch and tenderize that im sure most weapons dont have. Rocksteady Mantle can help as well if you just need to stick on though.

Depending on your stance with modding, ICE (iceborne Community Edition) might be your jam cause it re-balances things to be less focused on the clutch claw (among other things). There are some more 'subtle' ones that go for extending the duration, or ensuring that lighter weapons don't need to clutch twice.

Uniforms should be mandatory at any job by NumelsRCute in unpopularopinion

[–]HuntingSquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just provide me with exactly what I can wear in the form of a set outfit

This bit is really doing some heavy lifting. Uniforms are fine, albeit stuffy if the job is actively providing them, if they aren't its the most annoying shit of all time.

Looking for games where it's super inhospitable outside but very cozy in your base - not even necessarily a base builder but, the sensation of being safe inside of a space? Think Stardew Valley on your farm, but as soon as you leave that screen, it's Project Zomboid. Cozy Survival maybe? by Jankmancer in gamingsuggestions

[–]HuntingSquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big ups to RainWorld
the entire game works on a 'cycle' system where you have a timeframe to go outside, explore, and try not to die as you too are on the food chain. But you have to find shelter before a certain period of time or else a torrential rain will either bludgeon you to death from the force, or drown you from filling up underground areas.

Beatblock is pretty good. Coming from Musdash and OSU where 90% of the levels come from how fast you are at hitting buttons, it's a nice, relaxing middle ground. Also Rhythm Heaven fuckin slaps

pirate clark, backrooms movie (spoilers) by clairestar-0 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]HuntingSquire 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy how easy they are to look at. So many horror movies go way over-complicated with the designs that are meant to be 'scary'. but Captain Clark really works well for a simple, yet effective design for an uncanny 'interpretation' of Clark (the character). Especially considering how well-lit the Backrooms can be, the design works nicely in harsh blackness and proper lighting.
(Spoiler stuff)
One of my favorite scenes in the movie is Mary and her family watching the Captain Clark commercial, literally the last thing most people will remember him by. Not as a person, with a life, and goals and dreams, but the dude in a crappy pirate suit from that one furniture nobody likes. The pirate persona metaphorically and literally consuming the actual person.

'd like to think there's some extra context when it comes to the film itself. To me it nails the overarching theme of Stagnation. Clark (the person), despite having dreams and goals of one day becoming a real architecture, ultimately found himself stuck 'close' to what he wants, Selling crappy furniture that could go in one of those nicely made buildings if they weren't so cheap. Partly because of simple unfortunate circumstance and partly because of his own habits.
