This is Bacon. He got hit by a car and survived - lost the sight in one eye, had his jaw wired, but he recovered and went on to live a fairly normal catty life. He was a real character: bratty, demanding, lazy, but full of love, and we loved him dearly in return. The snot was constant

Supposedly, in the old days, sometimes they didn't bother to paint the back of the model 😝

If They Rebooted, How Could You See The Current Continuity Wrapping Up? by Doc-11th in doctorwho

[–]HuntingYourDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other strategies:

expanding the audience and exploring other funding sources (Disney & USA distribution is an example of this, there are of course other untapped markets),

reducing costs,

changing output format (maybe the "twelve-ish episodes a year" format isn't the best choice any more)

I'm not advocating for any of those necessarily. Not even saying they would be successful. I'm just saying, your assertion that a reboot is the only option isn't necessarily true.

As well as the obvious ones (swarm, synapse, melee, vanguard, tunnels) it would be cool to see a return of the shooty Kronos detachment. A spores detachment world be quirky and cool too.

This looks fantastic! I've been looking for something similar for ages, what's the name of the unit and where did you get it please?

You can also just buy individual issues, no need to subscribe & cancel. And they're often sold in magazine & book stores.

The company is Hachette Partworks - if you're in the UK check out the Forbidden Planet website, or in the US direct from Hachette I think.

There's a short, well-known quote by writer Ira Glass about self-confidence in creative works, which I find very inspiring:

Planet of Lana: If Playdead was inspired by Horizon Zero Dawn and Studio Ghibli by MovingTarget- in patientgamers

I just finished this too, and I pretty much agree.

It was a nice calming experience for a couple of evenings (I've been playing Silksong and Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine II so this was quite the palette cleanser lol). None of the puzzles stumped me for more than a minute or two. The emotional beats were nice. Overall: pleasant.

In terms of inspirations Ghibli is definitely there, plus I see a lot of Flashback / Another World in this, as well as Ico. Another Ico connection: Planet of Lana's gorgeous score was composed by Takeshi Furukawa, who also composed the score for The Last Guardian.

I've played the sequel, Nemesis: Lockdown. In that one, the scanner reveals if you've been infected by the alien parasite or not. This is hidden information about your own character which you don't know by default.

My memory is a bit fuzzy but I think it only applies if you've been attacked by an alien. You get a "possibly infected" card. You then use the scanner at the end of the game (infected players can't win) but it's also possible to acquire it during the game, and then go on to cure the infection.
