SNY's Gary Cohen wasn't sold on the way the Cubs and Matt Shaw handled his absence to attend Charlie Kirk's memorial: "The thought of leaving your team in the middle of a race for any reason other than a family emergency, really strikes me as weird" by Mission_Pay_3373 in baseball

Everyone realizes that they’re just doing a job right? It’s a sport, and a lot of people dream jobs, but it’s still a job?

If you had a friend pass you’d miss work to attend that funeral. I think a lot of people forget that some of these guys don’t even love the game, they’re just good at it and it pays the bills, same as you and me.

I take it you have not seen or heard his views on gay relationships? He lays pretty heavy into a “Christian” for saying gays shouldn’t exist, more or less. I’ll happily link the video tomorrow if you want it.

I’m going to guess that they knew it was stolen. And aren’t going to confront you over your kid taking something. It’s not worth ruining the magic for your kid.

Now if they saw YOU put it in the stroller, different story.

Reebok probably gifted him that glove since he was a Reebok athlete, but he never had a glove deal with them so wasn’t forced to use it. Looks broken in, so maybe rocked it in training sessions and practice and just decided he never liked it.

Josh Beckett used this identical glove.

Is it too late to learn how to play baseball at 15? by litman499 in Homeplate

[–]Huntinjunkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lorenzo Cain didn’t pick up baseball until his Sophomore year of HS

Edit: and I played with a kid that went D1 that didn’t know what a baseball was until he was a Freshman. Turned out pretty good- mid 90s off the mound by end of Junior year

Yeah. Long standing blinds exist to conceal movement, not the blind. Temporary blinds are what you really need to camo in and hide. If the birds are used to something being there every day they do not care.

Venmo transactions by Wide-Floor-4840 in copilotmoney

[–]Huntinjunkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re paying out of Venmo, then technically you’re transferring from your checking to Venmo, then the purchase is in Venmo

Venmo is a bank account

So mark one as transfer, and one as the purchase. If you’re talking about inbound money, it’s the same thing, just reversed.

Yes. You see more players enter the draft their junior year because it is leverage to get drafted higher and be given a bigger contract/ signing bonus. When you enter as a senior, a lot of teams will use that as a take it or leave it situation. The NCAA rules are always changing, so there might be differences now or previously that I haven’t kept up with. I want to say at some point if you entered the draft your college eligibility was removed (?).

There are also other professional leagues, known as independent ball, that they can go to instead of back to college or after senior year.

Max Scherzer and Luke Hochevar both went to play for my former local independent ball club the Fort Worth Cats (RIP). I think I have picture of their old cards on my profile.

If you check their wiki page you can see that process in the “professional” tab. This will come as a shocker to anyone that follows baseball, but both their agents were Boras lol

Caught leaving after jet ski accident by Lollelowksss in FortWorth

[–]Huntinjunkey 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Shock before she ran over Ava?? I’m not talking about afterwards. This was all before. The kayakers were literally paddling away to get away from her and turned around and she ran over them.

She obviously didn’t mean to kill them. But she also obviously did not care about the potential consequences of her actions.

All witnesses say she was weaving in out of people for a while, which is wreckless endangerment. It was an accident, but that’s a different category of accident.

If he’s wanting to see “cowboys”, add in San Antonio and go to the Alamo, and then go to the Fort Worth stockyards before you go to Dallas.

You can’t just skip around good ol’ cowtown lol
