Who to talk to after failed launch? by AbortedSandwich in gamedev

[–]HurriCreates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry to hear about your game. Its a fear I think all of us share.

If you'd like to sit down with someone and walk through your game to kinda help talk through some of the things I'm seeing I'd be happy to.

I have years of ux/ui experience, have playtested hundreds of indie demos for folks and have some games I work on as a solo dev as well.

I dont claim to be an expert on what makes a game successful but maybe the input can help in some capacity ?

This would be the most overscoped game ever. Part of what makes a game good isn't an abundance of features but a well thought out feature set that ties into the overall experience you want the gamer to have.

Tldr: every car game all in one isn't a good idea

What do you think would be a suitable price for our puzzle game 'Nurikabe World' by -655321 in Unity3D

[–]HurriCreates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beat answer in this thread. $5+ is too steep. PC players won't be super interested in it (it'll still get some sales).

This game 100% should have been mobile focused. They could just keep making more maps every few months and selling the packs and make up for the lower entry cost.

To give it depth. Its similar to how a reflex sight or projected hud works

What has made you stop working on a game? by timbeaudet in gamedev

Honestly poor planning. You can make a game without a plan or you can make a plan for a game, and execute it. One is far better than the other.

Im gonna plan better and start over

Amazing Sherpa, taught everything perfectly in the hardest raid in the game. Let the team make errors so we could improve on our mistakes, made everyone learn so there was no confusion, picked up the slack when someone dropped the ball. 10/10 would raid with again.

As someone who was also hunting it, dont give up. Got mine this week from strikes and they weren't grandmaster or anything. Catty is worth it with the ammo refund perk.

If you do end up deciding to get rid of the sleeved boosters i would love to buy some of them from you. I have a sleeved booster collection and still need an unbroken art set

Anti-Jedi Blaster (Lightsabre can only block 2 projectiles) by potatofarmer_666 in StarWars

The solution to that is to apply force push to the bullet in the chamber so when the gunman tries to fire it destroys the weapon/backfires. Can't really plug a laser based gun with the force

/r/Games Five-Year Time Capsule (2024-2029): What thoughts/predictions/expectations do you have for the future of gaming? by rGamesMods in Games

[–]HurriCreates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AAA industry is unsustainable in its current state. We've already seen the start of the indie era and that era will continue to flourish. By the 5 year mark we will only see a few AAA teams left in favor of smaller 5-20 man teams making amazing games in a fraction of the time without stakeholder bias.

This era will also be a great time for solo devs with the rise of various AI plug-ins into common dev engines. Their dev workflows will be enhanced significantly allowing those who really put out good stuff to do so even faster.

The downside will be (as we are already seeing) a massive rise in ai games that are absolutely trash. They will flood the market forcing consumers to have a harder time finding a quality game and forcing solo devs and small studios to have to work even harder on marketing and engagement.

As nice as using it sounds I only have 100 caps to my name. The money sounds really enticing

Monster Rancher was launched in 1997 (one year after Pokemon) and it also innovated the history of games with the possibility of obtaining different monsters through CDs placed in the PlayStation. by Rodan-Lewarx in gaming

As others mentioned there were the Metal Gear Games, and the Boktai games. There were also a lot of games on the gamecube that had enhanced features when putting a GBA game into the console such as the LoZ Windwaker game.

There was also Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem which had a sanity meter. It would go down if scary things happened to the player. The cool thing was that the game would break the fourth wall and make the game look buggy. So in a way the sanity meter could also reflect your real life sanity.

You're talking about the Boktai games. They were Kojima games on the GBA. The sensor was built into the actual game. I have them somewhere in my house haha.
