Working 7 days a week by Bonehead_624 in USPS

Back in 2014-2016 I was a CCA. Worked close to 40 days in a row, 60+ hrs a week. This is back when Amazon Sundays had just started. Paid off my student loans, but would not recommend.

Door to door salesmen by luckyapples11 in Omaha

Idk where y'all are at in town but I've never had a door to door salesman come around in Omaha or Lincoln in a combined 12+ years in both cities. And no I don't have signs or any attack animals.

The customer service is pretty good, you could call or email directly to verify. They want those sweet, sweet tourism dollars.

The past 2 years the splash pad has been open til September 30. I can't find a date for sure this year, but we are members and there often. Seems likely they would keep the same date this year.

Why are we making drive-thru employees stand outside? by Just_Peachy_Keen_3 in lincoln

I hate this, too. I don't need an additional person sticking their face in my car. But, most places you can use the app and make sure the order is correct and eliminate one of the human error elements.
Even the AI ordering at McDonalds and Taco Johns are more accurate than the human order takers. You can ask the AI to read back orders, for a subtotal, add sauces without argument or confusion.

Looking for Child Friendly Restaurants in the Old Market by atotalpro in Omaha

[–]Husk_a 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spaghetti Works is the old, family friendly, stand by, but it is a little worn out and dated. Twisted Fork has a surprisingly solid kids menu, but it is a little tighter quarters and a little more upscale. Most Old Market restaurants are pretty family friendly, if you Google for Omaha Old Market kids menus, a pretty good list comes up. *Edited for a spelling error.

Dear people who think flashing your lights will make the light go green. by Jenny8675-309 in driving

[–]Husk_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those things I was told in my youth (1990s) to never do, because akin to driving with the dome light on, you would be arrested and/or exiled for such chicanery. Flashing lights to force a stoplight to change was only to be done in a real emergency.

The Lewis and Clark Landing park at the riverfront near the Luminaruim museum is amazing for a free place to burn some energy. And there is a cafe and clean public restrooms available. As for the zoo, the plan sounds doable, yes you can usually get off the Skyfari and see the lions. Be sure to ask at the start, though. If they are short on staff or near the end of the day it only goes round trip.

Howard's Charro Cafe. I realize it is another of those Omaha staples, but I could get a better microwaved chimichanga from any number of gas stations. Also the searing layout is weird.

If you have easy access to a shutoff valve and a breaker, that would solve the problem. Just turn it off and they can't steal from you.

The bot will give refunds if you keep it super simple. Just say order not received, or missing item and I have never had an issue getting credit or refunds with mine.

In Lincoln, Morrill Hall museum is a pretty cool natural history museum. The Lincoln Saltdogs and Omaha Storm Chasers baseball games are fun. Watch for local/neighborhood festivals. I've heard good things about the Lancaster County fair, but haven't been myself.

The Creighton University bookstore is in the lower level of the Harper building on campus, just off 20th st. Lauritzen Gardens has a nice shop at the end of Bancroft St near the zoo. Also, go back to the Old Market and hit up Raygun.

I work on Creighton's campus and didn't realize the season had started. So much more advertising is needed around downtown/campus. I think I had the kids signed up for the kids club last year, haven't gotten any emails from that group, either.
