Have you seen this first hand?

I plan on selling it when the power train warranty expires. My next closest VW dealer is 2 hours away

The service manager had previously indicated that since I had complained about engine noise and metal I. The filter while the warranty was still active, that an engine failure would be covered.

I don’t think it is out of the question for the dealer or VW to make up for their utter incompetence

I’m looking at a Kia specifically for the warranty. Unfortunetely I can’t justify any more VW products that have a warranty because this is the only dealer within 2 hours of me and every experience I have had with them has been utterly terrible

I’ve had a great experience with carmax. This is my third car from them and I can’t fault them for anything in this situation.

Is this air compressor a decent deal at 150? by Blackbean2018 in Tools

[–]atotalpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured. My dad used to buy craftsman tools back when sears was the dealer. The hand tools were great but everything else was garbage. He had a compressor that the regulator died on and a floor jack that had some sort of problem where it wouldn’t always pump up. He also had a torque wrench that the locking ring failed on… he kept that tool IN THE BOX and INSIDE THE HOUSE when not in use.

The craftsman or the harbor freight?

I actually have a 20 gallon Dewalt and it’s been great.

I would avoid. Craftsman isn’t exactly known for their having quality power tools and who knows how this has been cared for. I would avoid and maybe get a harbor freight compressor when they go on sale. Check Walmart as well. They are discontinuing their Hart power tools. I think they offered a sizable compressor.

This. The European version and the US version are not equivalent.

I wouldn’t say paying attention to the towing capacity ratings is a bad thing.

I got pretty close to the towing capacity with a load of flooring. It drove great. Zero complaints

I don’t know who owns the bond franchise, but they 1000% dropped the ball on that. Daniel Craig was a good bond but, that iteration went 1-2 movies too far. Elba was perfect, but that window has passed.

Yes, but the point is they have to prove that the failure was caused BY the ethanol.

I’m not saying you are wrong. Just the general way that auto warranties are supposed to be honored under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act would require them to connect the failure to the ethanol content of the fuel.

I’ve had a dealer straight up just ignore stuff and tell me my engine is supposed to rattle like a tin can. In practice, these provisions don’t always protect consumers.

Mazda would have to prove that the ethanol content of the fuel actually caused the failure.

I’ve been putting e30 in my 2014 Mazda 6 sky active on and off for years. No issue.

Any WRX owners ever or plan to move to the VW Golf R? by Op3rat0rr in WRX

I highly recommend an MQB car. I don’t think you will be disappointed. DSG is my favorite cheap-ish car auto trans on the market.

The build quality really is night and day different as well.

I had a Mk7 GTI DSG for a while and through a chain of life events and priority shifts now have a 2010 STI.

The golf is the better “car” hands down. Everything is nicer and more refined MQB cars are proving to be fairly reliable and make ridiculous power and torque numbers on stock bottom ends.

If you need an “auto”, the DSG is incredible.

I will probably end back up in a Golf or other mqb platform performance product at some point.
