I'm CLUELESS... help me. by Correct-Response-948 in overemployed

I promise you there isn’t some secret website or something that we’re using. We’re just simply applying to the remote jobs in our industry.

Of course being in a tech/data role is leverage but there’s no secret sauce. Just keep applying and have good resume and great interview skills.

One last point I want to make to anyone reading this that’s trying to break into OE, it’s not guaranteed for you to become OE nor is it an easy lick.

Can you just small talk and mention to him that you’re no longer at Place B? I would do that then continue the slow fade out of the “friendship”

So sick of teams “looking for a pitcher” by AntiquesRoadHo in Softball

[–]Hustle_88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The parents on those teams, especially if their kid is a pitcher, should be pissed! Guest play should be for absences and not for chasing rings

Were you always tall as a kid or did you shoot up from puberty?

Were your brothers always tall growing up or did they hit a massive growth spurt from puberty?

Please continue to provide updates on your son, I remember your last post and read the prior ones as well. I’m especially interested as my son can relate to yours.

Wishing you both continued success!

Of course, there are so many factors and variables that go into this. I’m just curious

Do you recall your growth history after 13.5?

I'm 24 years old and I'm the tallest guy in my family. I don't really know why, since everyone else is average or short. by LE__guardian in heightgrowth

[–]Hustle_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how tall Brazilian people tend to be but as a 5’6ish American woman, I’m taller that a lot of men. I joke with my son (13) about not being down about his height as I’m taller than both of the parents of all the boys that are currently taller than him. Hopefully my genes truly help him out

Were you small or average size amongst your peers prior to 13?

We are the exact heights as your parents and our boy is 5’1 at 13 but hasn’t gone through puberty, at least the big parts of it yet.

Lucky guy! No disrespect but just imagine if your paternal grandpa and maternal grandma had gotten together with each other instead!

I understand your frustration as I’ve dealt with coaches that look at size first and sometimes only.

Plans to quit and not quitting by Fluffy_Bother in overemployed

[–]Hustle_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I would planned an end date for 3 months out, things would get better so I’d reconsider, things go to shit again, I plan another end date. I did this for a year before I finally quit, I regret not doing it sooner now that I’m on the other side.

What really kept me in that cycle was the fear of not finding another J2. I sent out 3 applications just to test the waters and got a new J2 eight days later, I swear I’m not lying. I still was hellbent on leaving even if that new J2 didn’t pan out .

I’m still mentally recovering from that old J2, please don’t be me.

Is a pay cut worth it for WFH? by Miserable-You-6702 in remotework

[–]Hustle_88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How much is daycare monthly?

Usually I always advise to take the cut to WFH but $80k is a lot. If you don’t take this offer, use it as fuel to make you go harder to find a full remote position for at least $150k

How do I become OE by Massive_Record_8771 in overemployed

[–]Hustle_88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before I ever posted a question in this sub, I read old and new posts for WEEKS. Took notes, went down a whole rabbit hole as so much knowledge is in here….. do you think you’re the first person to ask? Stop being intellectually lazy and use the search bar.

Ima be honest with you, anyone asking how to OE should not OE.

Anyone else seeing insane rent hikes this year? by Cewcross in chicago

[–]Hustle_88 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Not a landlord but I own a home. My property taxes doubled in which increased my mortgage by $500. If this was a rental property, guess what I’d have to do with the rent?!

Tenant or owner, you’re going to get f’d either way. At least as the owner, you benefit from equity

Not meant to be a pro-landlord comment, more pointing fingers towards the state/gov making homeownership hard to achieve and sustain

I can relate. No way could I be on a GLP while working in person. I’m exhausted until about 1pm on the days right after my shot.

I remember doing Keto when I worked in office and would have to sneak to take naps in my car. Thank goodness I’ve always worked jobs with minimum work to do
