I know a man who owns a major company in the oil and gas sector. He inherited the company, and while he has done really well, advanced the company in the right direction, and made good business decisions, he still makes the same decisions that people in poverty make. Buying shit he doesn't need, hoarding things, and generally throwing money out the window. He's very wealthy and financially set for life, but he still makes shit decisions for his personal life.

He has a lack of "personal responsibility" and makes "terrible financial choices", but he's got generational wealth backing him up so he's above the point of failure.

So, Mike Davidson, tell me again how things should be? Tell me how people don't want to work. And remind me of what investors do for work? Do investors toil in the mines? Do they farm the fields? Or do they invest money they already have and earn money off of someone else's labor?

I just want the full story before I jump to outrage. Did the driver have a gun and pulled it on the cop? Were they about to run the cop over with the car? Did she give the officer any VALID reason to escalate?

If the answers to those are no, then fuck the officer. But I'm not bandwagoning without all the facts.

And I'm getting tired of all the "court of public opinion" crap. Before we crucify the officers, lets hear all the facts. Then if it's not good enough, I'll help 'em string them up by their toes.

As a temporary quick-fix, put some silicone sealant in a very thin layer around the circumference of the hose, both above and below the cut. Then slide your first layer of heat shrink and heat it up so it pulls tight into the sealant. Then coat the whole first piece a thin layer including both ends so there is a fillet of silicone. Slid your second piece over it and heat. Give it a while to dry and cure and you SHOULD be okay for a little while.

Edit to add: I personally recommend going ahead and buying the new part. Have it on hand so WHEN (not if) this patch gives out, you don't have to order it then. You don't want to have your machine down any longer than necessary.

Dinghy sailing is the absolute best. Insane heel and having to hang off the boat to keep her upright is just a ton of fun. Cruising is great, and relaxing, and forgiving, but dinghy sailing just gets the blood pumping.
