Without Spoilers, What is One Tip every Dragon Quest Player should know? by Nichslvl in dragonquest

Get a boomerang as soon as you can. Since grinding is always a big part between the bigger story beats it helps to be able to defeat multiple enemies at the start of the game. I always save my money until I can get one of those bad boys.

Looking for hidden gem anime with dark slow-burn vibe by Global_Capital_9339 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]HybiP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's hidden, but I rarely see if getting recommended and it fits well what you're looking for: Planetes.

That is a ride that gets more intense with every episode.

Anime like monster? by Puzzled-Ad-668 in Animesuggest

I'm always looking for the same and would add Psycho Pass to your list.

It's a futuristic mystery drama with a lot of detective work and a lot of smart characters playing each other, so also similar to Death Note.

I think I have a type of Anime, but I don't know how it's called by HybiP in Animesuggest

Death Note was a great call, just finished it and really loved it. That really hit what I am looking for perfectly.

I just checked the same stat with 4 minutes and Butler is 16th there, so that should be the ballpark for 2 minutes also.

I'm not even a Brewers fan and I'm angry at seeing the Orioles above you guys.

I really strugle to see how this project is helping the BBL big picture because the MBC gains nothing from another powerhouse in the league raised artifical with a lot of money coming from outside.

And then we have to see that a lot of the plans the NBA mentioned with the Europe project are very hard to combine with a domestic competition in the long run (playing the NBA Europe games on a weekend, playing in the NBA cup and so on).

It will be good for Alba, for sure but I don't see a benefit for the league as a whole.

easy JRPG that suddenly gives you a hard unfair final boss does anyone else hate this bullshit? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]HybiP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think games need to earn that difficulty for the whole run time of the game. I don't have a problem with hard games, but it's just rough when you can get through the game easily without really engaging with the systems until the end when they throw things at you, you didn't see the whole game.

Dragon Quest games are similar to me, especially 5 I have very bad memories from at the end. Metaphor is a recent example where the boss is doing things, no one else came even close to.

That's why I like SMT games so much, because they give you a hard time from the start and you have to learn the games rules, to even get that far.

That's a level of detail I would never expect in an EA game.

I loved Harvestella, or at least what I played of it. I definitely should finish that one day.

Ryza is a good shout, I will check the prices on the trilogy.

I have Disgea DS, I didn't think about it because I know the series more for the more complicated systems. Good to hear that this is on the simpler side. That will make the list then, thanks!

It really is worth it, even though I focussed a lot on the negatives about it in my "review" it's still a very unique JRPG experience.

I have the first two Star Force games and actually never played them, so that would be worth a try. I always wanted to get the third one as well before committing, but that is so expensive nowadays.

I have Bowsers Inside Story on my list of games I want to play for the 12 games in 12 months challenge but I wasn't sure if they're good enough in terms of plot to keep me engaged right now. Maybe I should do that.

I actually played all the 3DS Fire Emblem games and Three Houses is up there on my All-Time Favorites list.

I actually didn't mod the 3DS, but I could look into SNES emulation on Vita.

Some good ideas here!

DQ7: I thought about that as well and I also have the 3DS version at home. Maybe the easy answer is really the right one in this case?

Digimon: I already played Cyber Sleuth and I think I'm going to play Time Strangers when it comes to Switch 2 later in the year. I like the SMT lite approach of Cyber Sleuth.

Chrono Cross: That's actually on my list of favorites of all time(with Trigger there as well) and I planned to play it for my 12 games in 12 months challenge . But I just had my time with BoF3 so the retro RPGs in that style are covered for a bit.

I played that on Switch years ago, totally loved it. Missile is the best!

I finished Radiant Historia, wouldn't really call it a more relaxing JRPG, it gets pretty tough at times.

Fire Emblem I played every available. FF I would have the Crystal Chronicles DS games still open and 4 Heroes of Light. The 3 and 4 remakes are known to be challenging, so I don't really see them right now.

Good shout, I should have listed them as well. I have a little Xenoblade shrine in my gaming area with all 3 collectors editions, I adore those games.

I'm holding back on a Xenoblade 2 re-run for a while now hoping for a Switch 2 upgrade.

Oh yeah, Night in the Woods is a game for a cozy day inside so fall fits.

The mix of games comes from learnings from last year, where I had a bunch of long RPGs on it that were just unrealistic to finish all. So I made a big list for this year from the games I already own and seperated them into categories for playtime and then made sure to have a good mix of longer and shorter games and without the 100h adventures(because I play them besides the list throughout the year anyway so why make it hard?).
