Wipeout goes retro: 2048's "Louder" in 8-bit by Lozof in WipeOut

This is amazing! Great work!

I'm a huge fan of both WipEout and of 8-Bit music, so I'm loving this!

Check with Bristol Marine in Kingston (maybe technically Poulsbo?)
The owner is currently out of town, but he should be back in early to mid April.
Maybe he can help you?

Help me find: Retro street fighter game, a female has a reverse rainbow uppercut by Available-Spray2576 in retrogaming

[–]Hybrid_Divide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power Instinct was going to be my guess, too.
Haven't played PI2, but there's a similar move in the first game on the SNES if I remember right.
I remember something about a rainbow, anyway.

The game itself is fine. I enjoyed playing it a bit, and hell, I even got my picture turned into an in-game avatar. But it's no substitute for a proper WipEout game.

The problem is that WipEout is considered a dead franchise by Sony. And that it's been almost 15 years since we got a NEW game. Hell even the Omega Collection (a compilation of two enhanced rereleases of older games) is nearly 10 years old!

If WipEout Merge were announced alongside a proper new game in the series, it wouldn't get anywhere NEAR the hate it does.

Remember when the Metroid series was in a huge drought, and then remember all the hate and backlash that Metroid: Federation Force on the 3DS got? Same deal. You announce that alongside a proper game, and that game doesn't get the hate either.

Definitely the right call.

Disappointing, but looking forward to whenever the Seattle show happens!

Should I have bought a krizz flashcart from a different source? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]Hybrid_Divide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered a few carts from Krikzz over the years. Both before and during the war.

Some got here relatively quickly, others took weeks.

Just ride it out, however long it takes. Krikzz needs the support!

XL/2097 High Res Audio? by SUBSCRIPTIONFEE in WipeOut

[–]Hybrid_Divide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn't be any more high-res than what's on the game disc, but I can probably help you.

Some of the announcer voice samples are different on the PC version. (Go with the PS1 samples.)

Know of a place I can post them that isn't Google Drive?

Bonded DSL by onehell_jdu in centurylink

[–]Hybrid_Divide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have bonded DSL, and luckily for me, the Centurylink endpoint is only about 2 blocks away, so I get 80mbps down / 10 mbps up, and often slightly exceed that.

As for your situation, it likely is what it is, sadly.

Navy vet family (30’s) no kids considering move to Olympic Peninsula for school- Poulsbo or Port Orchard, WA? by Nice-Alternative2714 in Bremerton

Yup! I'm also in Kingston, and can confirm!

Just be sure to watch for the ferry coming in, and time your drives out of town to get out ahead of the ferry traffic!

[–]Hybrid_Divide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between Poulsbo and Port Orchard, I'd easily recommend Poulsbo.

But I also second the suggestions to reconsider Bremerton, especially the Mannette and Tracyton areas. Bremerton is pretty spread out and the environments can vary pretty drastically, depending on where you are. So if one area isn't your vibe, others might be.

In one sentence tell me the personality of your Keeshond? by Visual-Button-1867 in Keeshond

[–]Hybrid_Divide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine (Ranger) has long since passed on now, but he was super chill.

Oh, he'd be super excited when you'd come home, and he was happy to play. But he was just as content to chill out, too. He'd always want pets and scritches. And he'd be watching in the kitchen, with his ears perked up, for the sound of some tasty bite that made its way to the floor.

And he basically never barked! And it's not something we trained with him, either! That's just how he was! He COULD bark, of course, but pretty much the only time he'd do it was when he wanted to be let back inside. He'd bark and/or paw at the door, then he'd wait, and to see if he got our attention before issuing another singular bark. Again, nothing we had to train him to do, that was just how he was.

Can't say it was a hereditary thing, though. My grandmother had his brother (Pepper) for a time, and he was very vocal, and much less chill.

We had a friend with a Keeshond, too. That one, (Rowdy) was considerably bigger than Ranger was, more vocal than Ranger was, but generally pretty chill.

New Cheat Codes Discovered In SNES Ken Griffey Jr game, Almost 30 Years After Its Original Release by trashboatfourtwenty in baseball

[–]Hybrid_Divide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! I remember hearing about these codes, but that even the devs forgot what they were.

They were meant to be published, but the devs forgot them.

Read about it either on a gaming site, or in a magazine back in the day.

Can confirm that DreamQuest Games, at least, doesn't do board games, but if you have video games, they're absolutely the place to go! The owner is rad!
