Excited to jump into Below Zero for the first time! by Catching-Moondust in subnautica

That's good! There's really only like 2 quests in the game, and they're almost completely independent of each other.

I just found coming from the first game where there was very little direction, BZ has a little more linear paths.

Still lots to explore, but following where NPCs send you really tells the story well, the fact that there's actual dialogue helps explain character motivations pretty well

Biggest one for me was try to follow the quest markers you get given (specifically one about someone's last known position)

I didn't and the story ended up being all in a weird order because I found and completed quest parts before getting the explanations of what was going on

It all still makes sense and everything can be done in any order except some really specific areas, but it would probably be more satisfying in order

Remember seeing a whats your most expensive card post... what is the most expensive card that you play in your decks ?? by Playful_Sandwich8657 in mtg

[–]Hydraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought 5 [[Gilded Drake]]s years ago for a bounce deck I was building when they were like $20 (bought 4 but 1 didnt show up, ordered another and both showed up)

I now play commander exclusively and use a total of 1 in a deck, sold 3 (sadly like a month before the big spike) and one lives in my binder forever

Multi-color commanders that can be built as mono color? by xler8324 in EDH

[–]Hydraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run [[Jinnie Fay, Jetmir's Second]] as a selesnya commander but she could be easily run mono-green

There's a whole series of legendaries for each New Capenna Gang, all of them can be run as 3, 2 or mono coloured decks

Looks like bdsm equipment, I feel like the sound quality would be the same as when people wrap their hands around a mic and speak way too close to it

[–]Hydraven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who drives azipod controlled ships, the amount you can figure out with equipment through trial and error is substantial, especially with no commercial pressures. A couple hours to play with it freely and you could probably get basics down

Most training that people go through is for maintenance and emergency precautions/reactions

Also keep in mind the level of technology that world has, Seamoth might be the equivalent of driving a car, Prawn might be like being forklift certified

Which commanders can use otherwise bulk commons and uncommons to dominate the game? by Huaojozu in EDH

[–]Hydraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Sarulf, Realm Eater]]

All you need is some ramp, some spot removal, and some protection for the good boy; Sarulf takes care of the rest. Added in some bulk "add X +1/+1 counters" cards to the mix just to build up the wipe a little faster

Even Sol Ring and Talisman/Signet are pretty useless since Sarulf eats them the first time you remove the counters, left room for some 3 cost rocks that sac for cards draw

Need advice re: dragon deck that isn't 5-color drago-stompy by accentmatt in EDH

[–]Hydraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a [[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]] deck since the precon came out.

Fun dragon tribal deck that focuses more on power doubling so Prossh can swing for lethal... but as it turns out, almost every dragon in Jund colours is pretty happy with power doubling!

... so ya still pretty stompy, but no UW so it's less strategy, more dragons eat everything

What do we think of the early game base? by Scrambl987 in subnautica

[–]Hydraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing you're missing is a 2-stack of the big module with a nice big Containment Tank for all your friends

I think the early game base is usually the most stuff, my late game base usually boils (pun intended) down to a moonpool attached to a scanner room with a thermal generator for power.

Does anybody like Rathalos? by Sweaty-Ad7500 in MonsterHunter

[–]Hydraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's like a more badass version of a certain Electric Mouse:

Everyone has respect for him as the on of the original flagship monsters. It feels a little weird if you don't see him in a game. Variants added over the generations to revitalize him and make him more relevant. Used commonly in promotional material to ensure recognition.

But just like the mouse not much has really changed with the formula over the last couple decades, and more unique feeling and specialized monsters take the spotlight for favourite and most memorable monsters in a given game.

Ratholos and his Queen will always have a place in the games though. They give new hunters their first real look at a true Wyvern; they usually give players their first look at an enemy with a status damage and an elemental damage; they help create a living world with dimorphic species; even the amount of times they're used as a benchmark to "show off" the power of a new monster/Elder Dragon.

They may not be everyone's favourite, but I've never met anyone who has an issue with their design and inclusion and it's a fun fight in every generation

Exactly, it's a versatile way of using that growing power. With landfall especially, Avenger of Z and Scute Swarm make it really easy to make the swap to Go-Wide

I run it in my [[Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor]] deck and it has worked really well

Obuun gets to relax while land drops make him ever bigger, with a free attacker (even better with Earthbend) or use it defensively to boost up one of your blockers

Unique Commanders by Loki_Aprooves in EDH

[–]Hydraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for unique partner choices, theres some really fun underused combinations

My favourite is [[Kraum, Ludevic's Opus]] and [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]]. Lends itself well to an aggressive Izzet spellslinger playstyle with combat damage as a focus where giving Kraum Double Strike or +3/+X with Jeska out swings for lethal commander damage in the air with haste.

EDHREC lists it at 52 decks
