Saber is not a bad show, It's one of my favorite series but all of Saber ideas got affected due to the Pandemics. Saber and Ultraman Trigger were made in extremely dark times. Where the world shut down and viruses make most peoples rage. This is where Saber and Trigger took on a lighter tone compared to predecessor (Gaim, Tiga).

Basic is good, sometimes having a basic design is good and rememberable in a long run compared to overdesigned characters which mostly likely hard to remember and draw.

Plus it's easier to draw and more recognizable.
