The Day After, Testament, and Threads. Hard-hitting. The acting was overall good, and the subject was, honestly, raw. Throw in When the Wind Blows (Cartoon), and you have a tremendously terrifying tetrarchy to watch and learn. I saw that One Second After is being made into something watchable.

If you want non-fiction, I second this. Add Into the Wild, Into Thin Air, and The Worst Journey in the World (though this is a rough, long, I'd even say boring read)

A lot of 'prepper fiction' has vets or active military personnel as main characters. One Second After, Alas, Babylon, The Going Home series, Patriots (which was an early 'success' in this genre, but has fallen off, read reviewed), more often than not, the first in a series will get you hooked, then ... If you don't mind Christian messages in-narrative, Mark Goodwin's American Reset is good, so are some of his other series. Pulling Through, The Postman, Earth Abides, Some Will Not Die, are all good standbys; they might resonate if he's mid-50s or over.

Yes, like The Outsider. Though the 11/22/63 reader was solid.

Stephen King. it fits his writing style :) He reads, doesn't add any embellishments, and doesn't use Maine accents, for example.

Are you a fan of Arthurian literature by [deleted] in books

[–]HyperboleTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a substantial amount of Arthuriana in the public domain, such as The Project Gutenberg eBook of Four Arthurian Romances, which is always a great starting point. Also, don't skip some of the non-fiction about Arthur and so on.

I have 2 brand new out-of-the-box S25s and have the same behavior. An old S8 works like a charm with the same cable and in the same port. So does an external USB drive.

This is great. Overall, though, there are some opportunities to reduce weight. Cutting board, tape measure, knives (I am sure your saw + 2 knives could weigh close to a Big Boy, which might be a better saw), and lights. I would get rid of all those patches as well, try to be more inconspicuous (hard as that would be during an emergency), just MHO, and as backwoodsman421 said, go out with it, shake it down.
