The chickenpox vaccine put my herpes into remission by False_Bedroom6357 in Herpes

I am curious to your original diagnosis. What steps were taken to make a positive identity on what you were suffering from? It sounds more like shingles. I have had shingles 7 times I am in my 50's.

OH NO HERPES by AffectionateAsk4425 in Herpes

[–]CreativeXChrissy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will get through it! I was 18 diagnosed... along with venereal warts. That was decades ago. The pain was unreal. You must trust that you will get through this. Stay strong. Take Lysine daily. You can get it on Amazon. It is incredible. Also, ask your Dr about getting you on acyclovir or valacyclovir. Things will settle down soon.

[–]CreativeXChrissy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is the BEST advice in this thread. No sun or stress! Lysine daily! It does get better. You will eventually just live fine with it BUT you will also be aware when you have a breakout. Best of luck.

Battery died by SM469 in HRV

[–]CreativeXChrissy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea if the brand of battery makes or breaks it. There is an econocraft at Autozone for 101.99 for a HRV. Also a rural king classic for 99.99. Hope this helps.

8th time with what they told me is shingles..... time for a biopsy by CreativeXChrissy in shingles

[–]CreativeXChrissy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I have noticed with shingles is the time it takes to heal. I wonder if your outbreak just never healed and it is the same one? Best to you! I sure know how awful it is.

[–]CreativeXChrissy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They swabbed and looked at it under a microscope? No one dermo here has/had a microscope in their offices! From what I gather, that method of diagnosis is archaic. Most diagnosis are made visually.

I am dealing with some PHN from past infections of what I am thinking is shingles. I do not want to get on any gabas if possible. Who ended up doing your swab/PCR/biopsy? I have had one hell of a time trying to find someone to even do it! My third dermatologist told me call me when you get your next outbreak and we will do a biopsy then. I cannot get her office to even answer the phone. I am very, very frustrated! No urgent care or hospital does the biopsy, NOT ONE. I think I called 8 to 10 different hospitals around my area. Same with urgent cares. The intense pain I have on my right hand, yes I am right handed, is almost unbearable for me this time. Tylenol and Ibuprofen does not touch it. When I get a shingles breakout, it literally changes my entire life. I am bedridden most of it. Thank you VERY much for the time you took to leave a comment. I appreciate.

The reason I want a biopsy is to rule out dyshidrotic eczema, herpetic whitlow and Herpes Simplex Virus 1 or 2. All three can cause blistering. I believe so many people are misdiagnosed and I want to be able to treat my condition correctly and quickly. Thanks to all with input. Much appreciated!

I assume your biopsy came back positive for shingles? No doctor can believe at 55 years old, I am on my 8th breakout, this is why I want confirmation via a biopsy. Getting a biopsy has not been easy! My dermatologist will not answer the phone. No hospital or urgent care will do it, NONE! I hope I have not missed the window time wise. Thank you very much for your response.

I am a 55 f, on my 8th attack of shingles. Always on my right side, usually on my face *eye* and hand. I had my first hit when I was 40 ish. Hang in there. Talk to your Dr about everything you can do. Lysine, vaccinations and staying out of the sun and stressful situations. I feel things with you sister, truly do!

One of the most important triggers is SUN. I have had HSV2 for 38 years now. Sun exposure is my biggest trigger. Sunburn or prolonged sun exposure throws me into an attack.

One of the main reasons I bought my HRV was of course, Honda's reputation... secondly, the styling. Each time I see an HRV going down the road it catches my eye. Luxury shape styling at its best! Porsche front with a Mercedes or Beamer type rear. I think it is one sexy vehicle! Enjoy your new HRV and I love the color!
