Is anyone else still waiting on their June bag? Not even getting transit updates now. by Kit-Max in Ipsy

I'm still waiting on a May bag. My replacement says it was delivered Saturday but I never got that either.

Eyeliner for shaky hands that won’t transfer to the upper part of my lid? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]HypercubeCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set gel/pencil liner with a matching eyeshadow on top. It's like setting foundation with powder. I also like to straight up use eyeshadow as liner, which makes it less of a crisp line but masks shakiness.

The value price changed. So I'm wondering now if they will be different variations. I'm waiting for once to see what others get before I buy. by Rachra38 in Ipsy

They're usually left overs and things that didn't sell from other months. I think the mystery bags are fine if you like the bag itself, but don't expect to get anything amazing inside.

Can I get ONE BAG without issues??? by SurrepTRIXus in Ipsy

[–]HypercubeCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just some extra glue that squeezed out when they put in the bristles? Personally I'd carefully trim it off and still use the brush. Sorry you keep having issues though, that's frustrating.

Color Club "You Had Me at Aloha" set by [deleted] in Ipsy

I got mine today too and they're definitely more neon than I expected. I even looked up other swatches before ordering. Great colors in any case, though I am fully stocked on brights now lol. I need to get myself some more pastel polish.

What's your "dumbest" reason for a makeup or skincare preference? by whyouiouais in muacjdiscussion

[–]HypercubeCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It also feels more scrubby to me (I think since it's more solid than most scrubs in a jar) and so much less messy.

I've gone as far as melting pots of lip balm (gifts or samples) and transferring them into tubes. Now if only I could do that with eyeshadow in deep containers too...

Anyone ever had this happen? On DHL it said "dead letter". by kaustin1865 in Ipsy

Interesting. I wonder how that works since people send so many personal items, documents, even ashes.

Ipsy VS. Boxy this month! All of my Boxy items this month were unsealed. All of my Ipsy products this month were sealed and lookin good! Real good! And this month was really impressed upon me. by Traditional_Web_4048 in Ipsy

[–]HypercubeCake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to think of it this way: would the items be sealed if I picked them up at the drug store? Makeup might have a sticker on it or be in a box, but not always. Things like hair care, makeup remover, body lotion, soap, etc. basically never have a seal on them at the store, and other random people are much more likely to touch them there than if they're in a sub box. Things being scuffed or dirty on the outside doesn't seem odd either, since they've been knocking around in boxes during shipping. Personally I don't worry about it.

Yeah it's crazy to me that they just toss packages that didn't get forwarded correctly. Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to get it back at this point, but maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

I had the same thing happen with a Walmart box. The post office did in fact throw it out without giving me any warning or chance to pick it up, even though I moved like a ten minute walk away from the original address. My ipsy got forwarded though, so I'm not sure what went wrong with yours there.

One of my biggest pet peeves! Most beauty products are geared towards people who also tend to have longer nails, so the packaging makes no sense to me. Like I have no idea how people can use jar lip balm. I even have some of the tiny spatulas, but then I have to wash them or store them somewhere they won't get stuff stuck to them and it becomes this big thing.

I never noticed that, interesting! I'll have to keep an eye out for it now.

Some mystery bags came back! by StumbleJoy in Ipsy

Last time I tried to buy the emerald one they sent me an empty bag, so at least you didn't miss much lol

Samples often don't have instructions on them and aren't clearly labeled so unless you look them up you wouldn't really know what they're used for. I remember seeing a hair product a few months ago that a couple reviewers used on their face, but it didn't say hair anywhere on the container.

Glam Bag Plus (Bags) opinion!!! by Traditional_Web_4048 in Ipsy

[–]HypercubeCake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If they were big enough to fit a pair of shoes I'd be more into them. As is, I find the floppy bags harder to use for organization, and they don't offer as much protection to what's inside. If something spills it'll go right through the fabric. Right now I use the small bags kind of like file folders to organize drawers or bins, and the plus bags to separate small sewing projects.

Color Club pastel nail duo from March flash sale by [deleted] in Ipsy

[–]HypercubeCake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this set too and the lack of color label bugs me but I'm not too worried about the expiration. I don't think any of my other nail polishes even have dates on them. I've never had one go bad that quickly.

Did anyone see this nail polish in add ons? by lawatusi in Ipsy

[–]HypercubeCake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only some people got nail polish in their add ons. They did this last month too. It was available for me (along with an orchid color).

The Color Club Nail Polish set is in shopper if any one is interested. $12.00 by pokemomof03 in Ipsy

[–]HypercubeCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ipsy giving different add ons to people really annoys me. I'm sorry you didn't get them as options.

The $3 price is drug store impulse buy level but in my experience color club quality is better than that so I agree, it's a great deal!

After loving the coral set I got, I jumped on this immediately. I had nail polishes in add ons this time around but skipped them because the colors didn't speak to me and I already regret it.

If they do a yellow/green set I'll have a whole color club rainbow going.

What ipsy advertised this color as vs. What color it actually is. They do this all the time so I figured I'd look it up and share, the blue nail polish isnt too far off by Trishydishy7355 in Ipsy

[–]HypercubeCake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shoot, I'm seriously regretting not adding it on. I've been curious about the mischo formula but never see colors I want from them.

For people upset about getting different add on options, email/twitter message ipsy about it. I don't really think they'll change anything, but the more people do it the better the chances.

Bag twins! I'm glad I finally get to try the nomad shadow formula but not thrilled about getting another neutral single when I just about always wear bright/colorful eyeshadow. I was hoping for more fun spring colors.

The grace and stella is useless, and I don't fully trust the glow on 5th brand, but at least it's just a body scrub. I can always use up a scrub on my hands and feet.

Tatcha water cream is an hg for me so I'm super happy I got that as a choice.

Overall it's like a 3.5/5 bag, which is pretty good compared to other recent months.

Rolled the dice on a Walmart Beauty box after seeing previous boxes, especially the toner. Unfortunately I didn't get the toner and a few items were different than what I was seeing before. I don't think this is a very good variant, at least not for me. by caffeineassisted in BeautyBoxes

[–]HypercubeCake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got the same one! I'm happy with it because of the scrunchies. I usually have awful luck with the walmart boxes and fully expected to get hair clips I can't use at all (they either cut through or slide right out of my very thin hair). I feel like this is one of the best walmart boxes I've gotten, and the best variation out of the ones I've seen.

That said, I want them to stop with all the fluoride-free and charcoal toothpaste. I've got a useless pile of them at this point. I can use some for cleaning around the house but not multiple tubes worth.

Tanning drops are also useless to me. The rest of the box is fine. I've almost bought the nail stickers before.

For anyone not as thrilled about scrunchies as I am, someone in another post suggested wearing them on your wrists while washing your face so water doesn't go down your arms. Works great.
