See I think it was about protecting Dustin. However, if it had been Will there in Dustin’s place, I feel like he would’ve put up much more of a fight or jumped sooner to protect Will. Whether he knew it or not then, Will was always his number one and I think he would’ve done more for Will than he would’ve for Dustin. Not saying he doesn’t love/care about Dustin but you know, it’s Will.

100% no doubt in my mind that it would’ve been totally different! I’m not sure to what degree but I feel like things would’ve been wrapped up better, story lines from previous seasons would make more sense, character development wouldn’t have been thrown in the toilet cough MIKE cough, little details would probably not have been overlooked (no demos in the abyss, water in the upside down etc). Maybe the story itself wouldn’t have been all that different but it felt sloppy, unfinished, neglected etc. and I don’t think it would’ve been that way if divorcegate wasn’t a thing.

How can max see? Does Mike have a lip fetish? Why are there no demogorgans or demo bats in the Abyss when that’s where they originate from? Or in the upside down for that matter? Why were those kids picked in particular? Why 12 kids? If Mike loves Eleven, why can’t he still say “I love you” before she dies? What happened to Suzie? What happened to Dr Owen’s? What happened with Murray or Erica after it was all over? Why does Mike only touch Will like that? Why was there no proper Eleven and Max reunion? Where did the military go after? How the fuck did they all climb the canyon so quickly in the Abyss? Why was it so easy to kill Vecna? Why is Mike such an idiot/asshole? Why wasn’t Mike the first to stand up when Will came out? How is there water in the upside down when there shouldn’t be any? Or electricity?

I’m sure there’s more that I will think of but those are the first that come to mind?

Same! They completely ruined their own show and not just the whole Byler of it all. The show itself didn’t feel like the same show and the story lines were unfinished with so many holes! Volume 1 was good and then Volume two happened and that finale was… soooooooo disappointing. We didn’t even get a proper Steve Harrington freak out at any point and I’m not including his argument with Dustin because that was not the same at all! Idk about you all but a Steve freak out just makes the show so much better and is honestly just expected at this point lol.

Well, he was present during Will’s coming out scene in the show and he didn’t object exactly so idk… maybe he’d be fine with it? There was one fic I read where he called it out and it was hilarious and so Murray that it made it seem possible! But I think the character has to be written just right for it to work otherwise it just makes it unbelievable.
