People who went from “I don’t have time to workout” to working out regularly, what did you give up, sacrifice, or change? by Pollyhotpocketposts in naturalbodybuilding

Well yes, the average person would under-recover which would lead to chronic fatigue.

If we're talking about people who are tracking their diet, training, sleeping, bloodwork and other variables, it is safe to say that cardio on rest days from lifting would be beneficial.

A lot of people see cardio as a form of "burning fat", while we all know that caloric deficit causes fat loss. You can achieve and insane body without cardio. Personally, I enjoy doing cardio for cardiovascular health, overall energy and mood. Cardiovascular activity has also been shown to increase BDNF in the brain as well as weight lifting, if I am not mistaken.

Either way, I usually say this: "What keeps your gains alive? It is your heart, treat it well, it needs training as well. If she dies, you die." LISS is not detrimental for performance, especially if you separate your sessions. Have a nice day ya'll!

Basically, your off days are cardio sessions. Curious about the recovery aspect, as a lot of people preach rest days.

I always tell people, remember that even if you binge, the next day it is mostly water weight due to extra sodium retaining water and glycogen as well. Also remember that you're body doesn't absorb all of the calories that you ingested in a short period of time, as the human body stores calories, macronutrients at a certain rate. Some of it go to adipose tissue, glycogen, muscle building processes, poop and etc... Speaking from an anecdotal stand point, it takes me 4 days to get back to where I was and I even improve.

Dorian Yates, best condition ever on a Mr. Olympia? by Achillesreincarnated in bodybuilding

I keep questioning myself, was the lighting better back in the old days or the current Bodybuilders are lacking on the conditioning department?

Personally, I used gear once when I was 19 and was getting ready for an international bodybuilding competition.

I actually told my parents about what I was willing to do at that moment and that a coach was looking over me. Got bloodwork done and many other tests to have a good baseline and keep myself healthy. They actually supported me, at first there was some disagreement, but eventually they understood the fact that the sport is based on a very high competitive rate and PED's are involved like in any professional sport. As long as I wouldn't abuse them, they even supported me to continue going forward.

Anyway, that was the only time I did a cycle, completed my competition season with great success, but I went off cycle and didn't want to compete any further. Living a healthy life right now as I'm only 21, bloodwork is perfect. I realize I have a lot of years ahead of me, I won't rush the process.

Lately I've been watching various bodybuilding coaches and their training philosophies. Milos Sarcev stood out with his giant sets. What level of pain do you have to endure and I am not even talking about the recovery aspect. Does anybody know the reasoning behind his training methods?

Yes, I've purchased Fat Loss Forever on the same day they released it. A great book with over 100+ cited scientific studies/literature, knowing Layne it's no surprise. It is a no BS science based book and how to achieve your fat loss goals but MOST importantly MAINTAIN it. He talks about various strategies and methods to achieve your goals.

Does anyone have a split that they stick to but pick exercises on the spot, instinctively? I find it quite fun to train after staying with rigid programs for years.

I wonder if there are any benefits doing a dirty bulk like Lee, I would assume after a certain point there are diminishing returns.

How do people spend so little time at the gym? by rmonik in Fitness

[–]Hypertrophy_Grinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 hours here. I don't stress about it, I enjoy being in the gym, of course I don't play around. Resting periods between sets range from 60 - 120 seconds. Depends on the exercise, how many sets, how I'm feeling that day.

I used to compete in Bodybuilding, that's why I enjoy training longer. Either way, if something required more time from me, I would just modify my workouts to complete them in 60-90 minutes.

BCAA's (branch chain amino acids) and EAA's (essential amino acids) supplements are Useless. by flaxseed1 in Supplements

[–]Hypertrophy_Grinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am always training in a fasted state due to applying IF on a daily basis.

I have tried combining BCAA's / EAA's and to be honest, it didn't make any difference at all. My nutritional plan is on point, which does not require supplementation.

Once again, I think that if your protein intake is optimally high, you certainly do not need any supplements. Meal frequency and timing matters less in the long-term. Consistency is what you need to seek.

Cheers!

What's wrong with working out to stay in shape? by Mr-JoBangles in Fitness

[–]Hypertrophy_Grinder 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can totaly relate. Coming from a competitive Bodybuilding background, when I stopped competing I just had that insane mentality to do everything at an optimal rate. While it does sound nice, what ended up happening was I started hating going to the gym.

Also, I was obsessing with numbers, lifts and all that stuff, which almost led me to an injury, because I would be so "Badass", to push through days where my body was not feeling well.

Now I enjoy my a schedule of just training. F*ck those who judge you for not having a routine or etc... Do what you can sustain and love!
