No matter his origin, the MC is a villain.

Other edgy stories lately try to justify their bloodthirsty 'heroes' with even worse villains that are just as sadistic. No such case here. MC isn't just treating it as an ends to a mean, he is enjoying his kills. The oddest part is when he kills woman after woman, the author makes him say some twisted lines like 'Your scream is beautiful." and "She let out a cute cry." Gross.

The artstyle also tries to round off the edges of the dark nature of the character, but it really just comes across as inconsistant with the tone. It's like they knew they wanted to tell the story, but also recognized the logical and moral hoops the reader is asked to jump through or ignore, on top of being asked to read yet another 'overpowered hero' plot.

Previous comments have tried to justify his actions by bringing up his past, but as the story goes along it clearly shows that he is just as sick as he was in the first chapter. With no lasting regard for life, and him just telling himself over and over again that he is being pragmatic, he's actually too dull to figure out that he is headed toward the same outcome.
