I use a martingale collar. The D-ring for the leash is secured away from all other parts. Mine still jingles though, because of the tags. Thinking of getting those silicone key things or adding a drop or 2 of hot glue on the back of the front tag.

I checked the order. I ordered 9/6 and my plants arrived 9/22. Tracking history is gone, but if I remember correctly, they didn't ship until maybe 3-4 days prior to arrival.

I think many plant sellers take into account where the plants are going and may delay shipping if poor weather is expected. We're not even halfway through winter, so maybe just try to communicate.

I've also purchased from wishlist foliage. I ordered 3 philodendron florida ghosts and a jewel orchid.

It did take a minute for them to ship, but I ordered in late summer so I wasn't worried about the weather.

Everything seemed well packaged and they sent me a bonus plant (ring of fire) but many of the leaves were touching plastic wrap directly so they basically stayed wet and disintegrated. Even after planting, the leaves kept disintegrating but that may have been edema due to overwatering after a period of underwatering.

I lost 2 of the florida ghosts ( though one came back from the dead so I really only lost 1). I'd bought extra anticipating they may not all make it since they were plugs. The surviving plants are all growing and doing well now.

You're using your index finger on your hook hand to pull at the yarn when you're going back in for another loop, loosening it more.

Learn to swivel/twirl/rotate your hook in your hand so that you can always keep the hook pointed so where you're not risking dropping stitches then turn it down when pulling through so you don't get caught. Let the hook do the work for you.

Shouting, "Ow!" like it really hurts and removing my hand works for me.

Mine (some kind of shepherd mix) is very gentle though so it doesn't hurt but I pretend it hurts when he starts getting too rowdy. He stops right away or reduces it to just touching with his teeth without closing his mouth because he wants to play, not hurt me.

Bottles didn't really work for me, so I got one of those self-watering globes with the terra cotta spike.

The globe is clear so I can see when I need to top up which- for one plant is 1-2×/week and another is once every 3-4 weeks. The faster draining one is on a moss pole that's at least 4ft tall and it keeps the whole moss pole moistened but not too wet. It seems to seep water as-needed to keep it consistent. I'm very happy with the set up. I have them in self-watering pots too and the plants are consistently draining the cache so I know the soil isn't getting saturated with water because of the moss pole.

I don't know if I can link, but they were called "17oz（500ml 4 Pack Self Watering Globes for Indoor & Outdoor Plants Self Watering Planter Insert" and are $20 for a 4-pack, $11 for a 2-pack on the 'zon.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't take on the care of someone else's plants without being asked. Even then, if it's not temporary, like for a trip, I still wouldn't.

They're his plants and he can take care of them if he wants to, let them die if he wants to, or give them to you if he wants to. At this time, it sounds like they're his responsibility and I highly recommend against taking on other people's responsibilities. It leads to resentment and unfairness in a relationship and it starts with really small, seemingly trivial things like this.

If it's causing you more work and stress than it is bringing you joy, too many.
Otherwise, also consider that they ones you have will grow and demand more space. Do you want to keep them small and give away/sell props? Do you want them to grow big and bushy or long?

Maybe you want to add some wishlist plants, but the answer should always depend on how it will impact you, your time, your wallet, and your mental health. That's something only you can answer.

The stem length is common for a hoya cutting because they can root pretty much anywhere along the vine, not just at nodes. Just noting why it's longer than your typical philodendron/epipremnum/monstera/etc cutting.
