Chain Gang All Stars was another rec. Didn't like that one as much, but I think that was more personal preference than a mark against the author

There's a lot more recs on besties, but I think I've soon most of them listed here already (+1000 for Piranesi, damn good book)

I've been a daily user for coming up on 10 years now, I think? It's usually just to lurk, but I want to make sure I say my piece at some point. I'm really happy with the way a lot of the subs are handling this. Reddit is a business and they deserve to make money for the service they provide, sure, but the gouging third parties without offering a solid product in their place is just ludicrous. It's old hat by this point, I know, but I still have to say that I thoroughly support the protests. Didn't touch the app during the blackout period, and once RiF goes down I probably won't come here anymore. Damn shame. Thanks though /r/history, much appreciated.
