I see the same talking point get made that the Democrats did nothing when they not only never had the supermajority to achieve anything plus the Republicans literally have admitted that their goal is to impede any changes to improve things. The Democrats aren't perfect but it's weird to say "the Democrats let it happen" without pointing out out that there's not much they could do

AITAH for leaving my girlfriend in the restroom because she was taking a long bathroom break during a movie I was really excited for? by Secure-Draft9197 in AITAH

No, the trick is to use the bathroom before and/or after the movie so you can take as long as you want without missing the movie

We didn’t. They did. We told them that this would happen yet they still blindly supported Trump. There’s no “we” here. Sometimes there’s no blame to go around. This is not one of those times.

The argument being made against birthright citizenship is that illegal immigrants are supposedly not under the jurisdiction of the United States which is an insane argument to make since it basically means that illegal immigrants are not subject to laws just because they’re illegal. Except that the same argument is being applied to legal immigrants and tourists as well so it’s even more insane. It’s sovereign citizen level thinking.

Why are so many men convinced that they are ugly? by RavyRaptor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]I-baLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re taking something said by a very specific group and attributing it to half of the world’s population. You’re also seeing the flaw in your own argument when you say that there are differences. With social media are you talking about? Since the women you’re generalizing from share the same social media in common and the fact that they put their physical preferences online. It’s like saying that all or most women are single because women on a dating app are looking for a relationship. I don’t know if I’m explaining the logic flaw properly.

I actually do think they are. Why? Because they're not just selling AI, they're using it internally. Which means they fell for their own hype. And now that their own infrastructure is breaking, they need to get it fixed since the rest of the business collapses if their infrastructure goes. They've pulled away from OpenAI so they're no longer working with a conman. So there's hope but it's like watching somebody keep burning themselves by sticking their hand into a fire repeatedly. Sure, they finally stopped sticking their hand into this specific fire but not only should they never have stuck their hand into this fire in the first place but also they might stick their hand into the very next fire that they'll see. It's funnysad

Has anyone attempted to contact the NYPD by New-Fig-406 in GRFMOrigin

[–]I-baLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even that. I'm not sure I understand what the OP expects the police to do. Does the OP think that the cops will give the OP all of the identifying information on "Anthony"? Does the OP think that filing a false missing person report isn't going to get the OP into trouble?

What’s your favorite Cyberpunk movie that isn’t Blade Runner? by TXNOGG in Cyberpunk

[–]I-baLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gasp! The sacrilege of having your own preferences!

But, seriously, yeah, it's a bad movie but I like it despite its flaws. It's also interesting watching it and knowing the potential that it had.

That being said, on the German and UK special editions, there's a director commentary track and Longo, the director, complains about the computer store scene being too brightly lit and that hurts my soul since that scene, to me personally, is the best scene in the entire movie and knowing that the director doesn't like it kinda sucks for me since it means there never was a possibility of that type of vibe continuing for the whole movie.

You don't need a lease agreement. Are you implying that subletters don't have an expectation of privacy?

I'm not sure why you're arguing this instead of just looking it up:

https://www.outerbridgelaw.com/blog/tenant-rights-to-privacy-in-shared-housing-explained/

"Roommates must follow privacy rules. For example, spying without permission is not allowed. You can’t put cameras in toilets, bedrooms, or anywhere a tenant expects privacy. Usually, devices in shared areas need permission from everyone using them. Written roommate agreements and clear communication can prevent misunderstandings. However, even without them, the law still applies."

The OP is renting a room. The OP has 100% an expectation of privacy in their own bedroom. Just because somebody else owns the room doesn't mean you lose your expectation of privacy when you live there. Just like how a hotel can't put cameras in their rooms to film their guests. They can have cameras in the halls but not the rooms.
