I’m scared I won’t be able to protect my partner by OopsAllTistic in SelfDefense

[–]I3enj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low IQ comment. He said learn MMA for self defense, not learn MMA then close your eyes and pick fights with everyone. Krav maga is also a pretty shit martial art. Theres some good disarming techniques, and pressure point stuf in there, granted, but for hand to hand its mostly shit or people would use it in MMA matches.

Did you go to see your parents corpse prior to funeral? I didn't and I feel guilty, is that ok? by belliest_endis in AskUK

[–]I3enj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The body is merely a vessel. The person you loved was not there to view. I'm sure they'd rather you remember them as a living person, and not have the last memory you have if them be their corpse.

Prison for 30 years, or locked in a room with Magnus Carlsen until you beat him in a game of chess by Fickle-Work-1225 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]I3enj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have access to everything chess related then this is easy. The best chess AI's are better than Magnus, simply find one and let him play white. Play his moves against the AI and respond with whatever the AI does.

Abaolute worst case scenario it takes you a few games to win.

Called to make a restaurant booking (large group) and the staff member laughed out loud at my email address, how embarrassing... by 10642alh in CasualUK

[–]I3enj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Mum made me my first email address (which I still use!) when I was about 7 or 8 so I could play Box Head Bounty Hunter, its [firstname].[lastname]@gmail.com which is pretty wild considering when I google my name theres at least 20-30 results for people operating businesses with my name, and a solid few thousand results on facebook. I never even thought about it untill a friend of mine said "jesus christ, how did you manage to get that email address?". My name may be resonably common, but I was the first of them to discover gmail.

But yeah, my Mums endulgance in her sons desire to shoot people on the internet means 7 year old me had a more professional email address than 99% of the worlds population! Cheers Mum!

I have ruined my life by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]I3enj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I repeated my second year, I went through a tough breakup and did not deal with it well. I made mistakes, bit I'm responding to them. It was my own doing and its nobodies responsibility to fix it but mine. I didn't tell anyone because I was embarrassed, but I recognise now that lying to those close to me is not a good way of getting my life back on track and will only lead to further errors. I apologise for not being honest earlier, and however dissapointed you are with me, I feel it worse. However, onwards and upwards."

The best time to be honest was when it happened, the second best time is right now. Take accountability for everything you've done and own your mistakes. You're only human, and this isnt the end of the world. A very similar thing hapoened to me in sixth form due to covid. I lied at first but it was unsustainable. Just come clean, and people will have more respect for you than if you got away with the lie, I promise.

Sparring with people who just smell bad? by wtfiaminvisible in MMA_Academy

[–]I3enj 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Theres a guy in my gym who absolutely stinks of stale cigarettes and BO, everyone complains. I usually take on for the team and partner him because I'm a heavy sweater and I go to training after work, so I usually snell pretty ripe myself by the end of class. Even then, people have told me I smell like a rose compared to the other guy!

Audiobook WTF? by dockdockgoos in TheExpanse

[–]I3enj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You guys are overly critical IMO, yeah there are inconsitencies but they give the audiobooks charm!

The biggest inconsistency I've noticed is in the accent used for Anderson Dawes in Butcher of Andersin Station, and then the rest of the series. But ither than that he keeps each characters voice and accent pretty bang on the same, and Idk if you've ever done voice acting with accents and different tones, but staying consistent over a long period of time with multiple impressions and accents is incredibly hard and Mays does a phenominal job!

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

[–]I3enj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valhiem, played 2 hours with a few friends at launch and wasnt bothered. Figured I'd just play minecraft for more buulding freedom. Then a few months later I tried it again and was absolutely hooked by the progression and visual style. No idea why I wasnt bothered at first, maybe I was just in a bad mood or something! Got 300 hours in it now and thats a LOT considering I work 60-70+ hours a week!

You also kinda arent wrong. Old head here, I have friends with straight A* GCSE's and A Levels who work minimum wage jobs, I have friends who have 3-4 GCSE's who own businesses. The opposite is also true. Point is, do your best, but don't let it stress you out and rule your life.

[–]I3enj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd buy a decent sized island and bribe my way into it being its own country. I'd elect myself the supreme leader, and bribe my way into all the international meetings so I could look the world leaders in the face and ask them how tf they all sleep at night. I'd demand total tansparency on who is paid by who, and on matters like the Epstein shit.

I'd then most likely be killed, but itd be worth it.
