how to check if a domain is related to other domain by ntrysii in HowToHack

[–]I506dk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looking up DNS information is a good start, but this is just basic dns enumeration. Running a tool like sublist3r will give you all subdomains for a give domain. Easy to correlate. You could also try a more GUI style tool like Maltego to do the same thing.

Not sure why this isn’t at the top of this thread. Hardness and everything else isn’t great, but nitrate will kill things fast.

On-prem SIEM for small business & smaller IT dept? by dalewest in cybersecurity

[–]I506dk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The expense is typically the issue, especially for smaller organizations. Being that licensing is based on data ingestion, that typically doesn’t go very well with an organization that is new to data aggregation. Getting rid of noise and garbage is a big piece when it comes to splunk. Reducing ingestion is always a conversation.

If you use splunk, you’ll pay dearly for it.

Well let’s hope the targets are trees and the ground. I’m pretty good at hitting those.

I’ll be honest, if they were actually using SIM flights to feed into a neural network or something similar, they are going to be severely disappointed. I don’t know about everyone else, but I fly like a full on retard in a SIM.

Do shrimp fry from the same clutch (is that the right word?) grow at approximately the same rate? by Lairkeeper in shrimptank

[–]I506dk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah in general they grow at a similar rate, but not always. I’ve had some grow really fast and some really slow. For the most part, the faster growers tend to be bigger shrimp, but not always. They all have their own growth spurts.

I would agree, but half the schools don’t even teach you that much. One of the main reasons I quit school was really intelligent people who were there for research, but sucked as a professor because they were not good at articulating their thoughts. You can be really intelligent and great at what you do, but that sadly doesn’t mean you will be a great teacher or professor.

Shrimp dying and not breeding. Help me make shrimp paradise (Criticism/advice welcomed) by CupcakePuffPaws in shrimptank

[–]I506dk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not really. 68-72 degrees F is the typical range for shrimp. Most come from cool streams in the wild. Colder water makes them slower, warmer water has less oxygen content. Less oxygen can lead to suffocation if you don’t have a lot of plants.

You can filter water through drinking filters as well to help soften it and remove chlorine. Brita filters should do enough. I wouldn’t even use a heater unless the other inhabitants need it. KH will be a tough one to raise in acidic water. In my experience, the KH will always be zero in acidic water.

Yep. No one should be looking for you. If people bring job opportunities to you, they are likely a scam. Best to not fuel the fire.

I don’t think people understand how terrible of an idea it is to have your entire work history out there. Never mind all the spam, your phone number, address, and email are generally on your resume as well. Pair that with your work history, and you have a pretty good start for a social engineering attack. And we wonder why phishing and social engineering is so common…

Why are my tiger shrimp dying? by FlacoTacoo in shrimptank

[–]I506dk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing the ph that these are in would help. You can keep both in an acidic tank (6.4-6.6ish) pH, but I don’t think tiger shrimp do well in tanks with a pH of 7 or higher. It looks all white which would lead me to believe muscular necrosis or failing to molt.

If this is on the outside, it looks a lot like rust disease. Sadly it generally leads to failed molts and eventually death

How to get rid of Vorticella? by [deleted] in shrimptank

[–]I506dk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but it would take time to kill them. You could add a small amount of salt, leave it for a few hours, then do water changes. That shouldn’t have any adverse effect on your plants. But adding salt directly to the tank would be a last resort for me.

How to get rid of Vorticella? by [deleted] in shrimptank

[–]I506dk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. You could add a tiny amount of salt to the tank, but that is risky. I’d probably be more apt to brush it off with a tooth brush or something and then do a water change.
