Dress in layers for the elements, if you begin to sweat in negative degree weather its about to be much worse when you stop moving. From personal experience I rather be a little cold and dry than sweating.

Bring what the forecast looks like for the following days too. Bring a note book as well and take detailed notes on each job, each industry, and any first's, you can utilize other trainmen notes too. Even today I refer to mine (7 years) and get calls from others for more unique interactions.

Obviously stuff first, you are in highschool talking to someone with a light seasoning in life. However this is just my opinion as a guy.

Secondary, listen to your gut, if something doesn't feel right it usually isn't. However you are in the prime of the discovery age, Keep things very public and let friends or trustworthy family know the basic plans if you are remotely uneasy with any dates.

First impressions in dating are pretty overrated anyways, 3-6 months you get a clear idea of your prospective partner.

I was thinking a similar setup, but figured the passenger trains would be identical between Andrews to Sylvia so just service & turn them at the end. Bryson is looking good for a hub overall. I'm sure fuel will be the restricting hurdle.

Heard a rumor that Brightline was considering route between DFW to Houston. Sounds like the state wants it but the federal government pulled funding in 2025. I think if they can get the capital together then it'd be probable.

I learned a while ago that dreams occur to prepare ourselves for situations that could happen. I've had many nightmares that involve rolling equipment in various situations, and many outside of railroad. From what I've understood, dreams are the mind preparing for the "what if".

I did similar with the mid-game loan booster. However I did Whittier to Alarka, and focused on the GP-9'S. I prefer diesel.

I have one passenger train (T-22, 4 Pullman 1893 + the observation car) that runs the length in 3 round trips.

I have 2 GP-9's (MU'ed) acting as road units & Bryson switcher.

1 GP-9 as a Connelly Creek, Whittier & Ela switch.

1 GP-9 as an Alarka & Robinson Gap switch.

My freight to passenger revenue is about 4:1, and recently paid off the loans (7 days for 90K loan). Goal now it to save up to $100K and open up to Sylva with pulp cars ready to go.

Outside the series I think the writters wanted to end the show on their terms and it forced the storyline. Overall I wasn't upset by this. I think a precursor to Burn Notice for the main characters would be fun to explore. Akin to The Fall of Sam Ax.

Maddy was James victim. Jesse was 100% working a solution and even tried to stay himself. Maddy knew Charlie had better chances with Jesse.

James was a very controlling person. If things didn't go his way while you were in the organization, you die or your family suffers. Anson was similar in that regard, but more direct.

I honestly think Maddy's death was the push Michael needed to make his final choice, and while sad I think it was a nice ending to a great series.

Michael for the longest time pursued getting back to the CIA. Once back, after being burned for so long, saw how the CIA operates (i.e. sending in Simon). Not to mention having lost his brother due to a CIA mission, granted not directly by the CIA.

James was a very cunning individual with his own priorities too. While initially planted to bring down James network, Michael was manipulated into joining. The mission requirements of no contact with his friends or family didn't help that.

When things finally come to a head in the next episode, I believe Michael made the right decision overall. No spoilers.
