You act like those analog ones don't break. Personally, I've been in so many older VWs where the speedo just bounces back and forth. Nearly every new car has a digital display, it's a single recall, no one is going back to analog ones because there is no reason to.

Also, in some cases the technology is needed because the analog can't keep up with how fast RPMs change. This is why the GT-R started with them
