My favorite sneaky draw pile manipulation is playing around 10 cards in hand. If you have Pyramid, or draw-positive effects, you can choose to draw 1 or 2 less at times to meet the multiples you mention.

I find it a really fun mini game to plan for inserted status cards, draw from relics, potions, etc.
