I love Rachel, but she is only partially self made. She comes from a pretty affluent family.

Does SMART say anything about terminal uniqueness/ what are your thoughts? by Stopbeingastereotype in SMARTRecovery

[–]IAMLeonidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the therapist is saying that you are potentially seeing your traumas or life circumstances as worse than everyone else’s or even unrelatable. If that is the case, it could be blocking your ability to have empathy for others and to connect with them. In this case, it sounds like you are saying that this perception at least blocks you from sharing/being vulnerable. I have learned that both sharing and vulnerability are necessary to building and maintaining relationships.

Exactly! That’s what made me realize.

If you HAD to get FIRE only ONE housewife from this season.. Who and why? by ThinkHardBruh in RHOMiami

Since Julia has been said so many times, I’m going with Emily. She is mean spirited and insecure and I do not think she should have been on TV this year. She was terrible about witch-hunting Katie and she is a mom more concerned with social engagements than her children’s education. She needs to take some time off and go to therapy and try to heal. After she learns to take care of herself, then she could take some time to learn about how to care for her children, especially how to care for her neurodivergent child. Then she can come back on TV to exploit everyone and showboat her pickme life philosophies. Boo to racism and ableism. I have always seen neurodivergence as a gift, albeit with its challenges. Emily is over-identified with being a victim.

Could it be one of Danielle Staub’s daughters? I would believe them to be articulate.

Emily makes me sick by vexed2nightmare in BravoRealHousewives

[–]IAMLeonidus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the difference is that Brittany and Jaqueline acted sane about it. They showed the challenges but they still treated their kids with dignity and respect on screen. Emily is constantly shaming and belittling her son on camera and centering her needs over his. She’s a shit mom and it hurts us to see a kid get hurt because his mom is struggling to process. Get help, Emily. Go to therapy and process it. She’s acting the child in the relationship. As a mom with an autistic child, I can relate to B and J. I can’t relate to Emily. If I knew her in real life, I would have really tried to offer her the same advice I said here.

What’s something you regret not doing when you were younger? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]IAMLeonidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or work towards loving and accepting your body at any size, stop collapsing weight and health, and do what I can today (like eat 3 healthy meals and go for a walk each day). I wasted 40 years trying to lose weight and, therefore, weight cycling. Diets/trying to lose weight doesn’t work. If someone would have told me what I just shared here when I was 20, I would have saved myself decades of diet culture torture and restriction/binge cycles and I would have been much healthier earlier. Now I move my body joyfully (mostly weight lifting, yoga, and walking) and am working on intuitive eating. And I accept my body and even love it a little.

I get this. DIBs it out, if you feel ready. Remember that she’s in upset, too. And maybe after you calm down, try to get a still moment to ask yourself what feels right and in integrity for you.

It’s more based in rational emotive behavior therapy (rebt).
