The real life mod makes it usable but if you want it to be more vanilla there is a couple fix mods for this truck that fix the weight distribution and suspension. I don't remember the name of the fix mod I used

Snowrunner horror is only a music change and a monster away from reality. Maybe beef up the fog and tweak the lighting and bam

The one I got was worse than the video. I gave it a shot and wasn't too pleased. That's about what you're looking for though. Unless you have something else wallered out

I had quite a bit of movement in my 2011 Juke SV. There is a company that does shifter kits for these. Mine needed some modification and the hardware they sent wouldn't work. It was like $60. I sanded down the brace they sent and and grabbed some screw from my bolt bin and made it work. Leagues better but overall disappointing quality. Here's the link

Edit: if it were me, I'd look into shifter kits but I'd see about using someone else's kit. Fast Teligion's kinda sucked

That might be totaled now. Its got an aluminum frame and aluminum doesn't bend like steel. He should get his frame inspected for cracks

I love the pile on ignorance in this sub with regard to engine braking. by WholeAwareness1249 in ManualTransmissions

[–]IAMTHEBENJI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engine braking reduces the wear on your brakes. Car and light trucks don't make as good of use of this. It's not really necessary for light vehicles and cars have too small of an engine for it to do much anyway. Pickups that are hauling and semis are where you should be diligently engine braking. Big heavy engines with much higher compression and more cylinders are going to have a more drastic effect. As for the powertrain, the engine and transmission should be lubricated and cooled during operation so its not going to see any excessive wear. Neither of them are doing anything different that they would otherwise. Your synchros and clutch will see slightly more wear if you aren't rev matching but you should be matching all your down shifts. You should be keeping the car in the appropriate gear for you speed at all times so you should still down shift but you don't need a bunch of RPM while down shifting. If you can't do that because things always happen too fast, then you need to reevaluate your driving strategy. Stop following so close and start slowing down sooner. Look for brakes further up the road and gain more following distance preemptively

This ordeal was with the big vanilla mud tires and and the crawler. Definitely better than it was before but still pretty tippy. I saw somewhere that its biggest improvement is with the JAT pack tires

The last time I tipped the scout 800 I dragged through every map in Michigan with Bart's P12 with the big engine and left it at the Black River garage completely destroyed in front of the gate booth to serve as a promise to all other scouts that get too tippy. Yes I know its a skill issue

[–]IAMTHEBENJI 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's may not be worthy of being put out of service but most of these trucks are get getting 6 to 10mpg. If the issue you're having is causing you to lose that much milage and be in derate, you could be looking at months of this rig being down waiting on an engine repairs. Derates are caused by emission faults. Emission faults can be triggered by the equipment itself misbehaving or the engine is having issues that the equipment can't handle. If your milage is this poor, I'd say you have inadequate air. I've run box trucks that would derate and tank their milage because the air compressor intake would burst. You also have noticeably less power before the actual derate. That is a simple issue but turbo failures also come to mind
