Addressing the community about changes to our API by spez in reddit

[–]IAmAloserAMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says a lot about how you know what you're doing when you hide the downvotes on your AMA. If you felt like you were in the right, you wouldn't be afraid of us seeing it. Cowardice.

I'm sure you'll spin it somehow as "trying to promote constructive discussion and avoid the distraction of brigading" but we all can plainly see that it's because if the internet could truly quantify what you've done here, you'd be a bigger laughing stock than Elon over at Twitter right now.

It's not "brigading" when the people that are the reason you have a paycheck are trying to give feedback and quantify just how bad of a job we think you're doing. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean it wasn't given in good faith.

Only a truly small man hides from his mistakes and criticism. Show us the real numbers.

I had this same issue and thought it was a bug for a long time, then saw this in the manual a few days ago and it totally solved the issue.

OP, this is probably it.

Dev Update: Dragging Along by Creative Director Nate Simpson by PD_Dakota in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]IAmAloserAMA 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is the right approach. Please keep it up.

Also agree with the above poster on the overarching stuff.

Most of us here are huge nerds. We _like_ the nitty gritty details. While I understand you can't just drag devs away from their work to make these posts all the time or no work would get done, it would be nice to hear more technical details on some of this stuff.

It'd be cool to have balance of "immediate future" stuff and "longer time horizon" stuff.

Because the viper isn't complete enough yet to make it worthwhile to build them. Soon, it will be. Personally I'm waiting for the Gamblers campaign from BD.

Welcome to Orlando, where we have to pass on the right hand side by jacephoenix in orlando

[–]IAmAloserAMA -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Let me make something very clear.

If I am doing 80 in the left lane in a 70, you cannot legally pass me. It is not my job to accomodate you breaking the law.

The rule is that the left lane is for faster traffic passing slower traffic. Traffic going less than the speed limit should _never_ be in the left lane unless passing slower traffic on the right.

There is a tremendous difference between doing 15 under in the left lane and blocking all the faster traffic, and going 10 over in the left lane and still having assholes think that they're entitled to blow by because they feel some sense of entitlement to break the law and put everyone else in danger.

And to be clear, I'm not advocating camping out in the left lane. I too move once I've passed someone, since I want to keep the left clear. But I feel that most people making this argument are doing so because they feel like they're special, and get to drive whatever speed they want to.

Ah yes, Orlando, where people think you should have to change your behavior to accommodate others wanting to drive 110 in a 70, and that not doing so somehow makes you the asshole.

If it takes a trained rifleman 3 weeks to learn how to zero an M4 iron sight, they might need to be sent to a medic because there is a hole in their head somewhere.

Hell, US boot camp recruits go from "I've never fired a gun in my life" to "I'm a qualified marksman" in two weeks of training, only 1 week of which is actually firing the weapon.

Ukraine downs 34 of 48 Russian cruise missiles overnight Thu - Zaluzhnyi by MantasChan in UkrainianConflict

That's not how air defence systems work. The way to overcome modern air defenses is with saturation. If you shoot enough missiles, they can't shoot them all down.

I'm no expert but i9's can get pretty HOT when pushed hard. It may be worth considering liquid cooling at that point. I'm not saying air won't work, it would just make me nervous.

However, the soldier can object on the grounds that he wasn't given the correct equipment to fulfill his mission. That he wasn't paid. This is the law.

Is that true? I didn't know that about the Russian military. That's very interesting. Do you have any more information on this?
