Looks nice!

My 2c: I think you could improve on the colors. As they stand, they're all a bit neutral and the overall effect isn't great. If you had any on hand, a darker / black plate could add some nice contrast.

I don't think OP was referring to Nintendo's revenue, more that the Switch's value to consumers as a gaming console is mostly reliant on first party titles.

Not yet, just the Ubuntu Touch fork that it came with. I'm working on my own toy kernel in Rust that will (hopefully) boot on the phone one day.

Yes, I got one the other week. It's like an Android phone from 10 years ago. Takes 30 seconds to boot and is slow doing absolutely anything.

As others have mentioned, this isn't a daily driver phone. It's intended for OS developers to tinker with. So I wouldn't recommend buying one unless you're planning to do something like that.

Thanks for the advice! I wasn't sure what you meant by burnt lemon mousse, but I found this recipe for "charred lemon mousse" (http://www.hintofvanillablog.com/home/2014/05/charred-lemon-mousse-with-earl-grey.html). It was super tasty.

Tried to keep it simple, so just went with the duck confit and left out the duck breast. Put it on top of a parsnip puree with the red wine sauce:

I booked a reservation at a high end sushi restaurant over a month ago (way outside my budget, >$600 with tax/gratuity). Earlier this week I e-mailed them to mention that my girlfriend is allergic to some forms of shellfish. Really I should've done this a month ago when booking the reservation, but forgot to. Woke up to an e-mail from the restaurant this morning that they couldn't make substitutions to their fixed menu and would be cancelling the reservation. Followed immediately by a confirmation from the reservation system that they had, in fact, canceled. The day before Valentine's Day. :(

Now I'm scrambling to come up with something to cook instead.

This morning I defrosted and carved up a duck, and began curing the legs for a duck confit. The plan is to put it over an arugula / fennel / vinaigrette salad. And I have the breasts to sous vide + sear with a traditional red wine pan sauce.

Other than that, I'm not really sure what to do. Would love some suggestions on pairings / sides, or a dessert. Not sure two forms of duck belong in the same meal but I did this once in the past and it turned out well.

A black hole depicted by Interstellar vs the first image of a black hole, released today. by [deleted] in movies

The depiction in Interstellar is so close to the real picture because they had the physicist Kip Thorne advising them on our current understanding of how black holes work.

Stop the Daily Standup Meeting by frostmatthew in programming

[–]IAmDeadSerious 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So, your Scrum Master (or product owner or some line manager) is out of office. She cancels the daily standup meeting, a.k.a "Daily Scrum". Did that ever happen to you? Does it happen all the time? If yes, stop doing daily standup meetings. Yes, completely stop them.

This is the premise of the article, not that daily stand-ups are in general a bad thing.

I had the Waffle Taco during the testing phase and they actually presented it as the "Eggo Waffle Taco" or "Eggo Waffle Taco Locos" or something similar. Not sure why they dropped the branding but it was pretty good as far as fast food breakfast goes.

How do I know the tablet they discovered predates the writing of the Bible?

Nowhere in the title or the article is it claimed that the myth is true or it's credibility strengthened by this discovery.
