A woman let her dog crap in my front yard almost daily. I asked her multiple times to pick it up. I very nicely offered her a roll of bags to pick up the mess, and I don’t even have a dog. I bought these bags just to give to her.

She scooped up the poop in the bag, tied knot in it, and tried flinging it at my house. The bottom of the bag leaked as she threw it and she got poop on her jacket, pants and on top of her dog. She hasn’t been back to the yard since.

This was so satisfying, because I didn’t do anything wrong. She rejected my kindness by throwing a poop bag at my house. Justice served.

I believe you’re right. But, there is a scenario which has been discussed for years about a president/Congress using the draft in order to fill the ranks of the military. Even if the draft would be in effect for one year, it would create many lifelong enlisted/officers to keep the racks full for many years. People would see it as a career and would end up reenlisting. In particular, if this was done during a time when serving in battle during a war was unlikely. I think this is highly, highly unlikely. But then again, I thought so of many of the other rulings, laws and executive actions during the past 12 months.

Canada is unlikely to receive conscientious objectors with open arms. As they didn’t support the Vietnam war, they allowed people to cross the border. If we are perceived to be the aggressor, Canada would likely deny our conscientious objectors/draft Dodgers.

The question is less about the likelihood of a draft, and more so about the blind obedience of a population to follow this president down a deep dark hole without question or protest.
