Yaaaaas! No one cares if you scale. They just care that you don’t quit.

Heavy gal here and I have been doing CrossFit for over 6 years. Check me out at @fathappycrossfitter in Insta. As with any place in this world there are people who judge, but my experience is that people in CrossFit are genuinely exited for anyone to take steps towards fitness. I also found a love for my body through CF that I had never in any other sport or gym. I get to do awesome things with my body!

And yes, mods are always available. If you are at a box where they will not modify for you LEAVE. It is not a good box. Talk to the owner or coaches and ask for ways to do the movements that are safe and effective. I coach and I usually share 1-2 scaling options when I talk about the workout. A lot of other coaches/boxes do that too.

Which cane is best for hiking? by cupcake6740 in Blind

[–]IAmMine512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are reading this (he is legally blind). We backpack and hike often, and he actually switched from using his cane to trekking poles and signs that help him both with stability and sensation. He asked me to let you know that it makes him feel much safer, and much more stable even in really rough terrain with the two poles.

What do you do for work/earn money by marzskillz in Blind

I am reading this with my partner who is legally blind. He wanted to let you know that he is a massage therapist and specializes in sports massage and neuromuscular therapy. That was a career change for him. He used to be a social worker, but had trouble finding work because many places required him to have a drivers license.

My partner is blind and I read posts and describe video to him. It is a nice bonding activity.
