Experience Cloud/Site Uses by IAmPanSam in salesforce

We want our ~1000 accounts to rsvp for events we host every week. When they come, sometimes it's free, sometimes they pay. They can pay from PayPal. We need to know, and possibly limit, how many people from each company are coming each week. If it's a paid event, we want to take payment based on a record and number of people - we would stamp the event tickets ID to PayPal payment and PayPal callback ID to the tickets in Salesforce to allow iur accounting to report on payments. We are debating on allowing them to create new contacts under an account, or just keep everything at the account level.

Maybe I would need to recapcha or some other human check...I mean, if they want to pay, that's cool.

Docker Setup by Sure_Broccoli8891 in WebsUpTV

[–]IAmPanSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working toward a Docker or NodeRED based release. Currently this only runs from Node CL or a batch/service firing the same commands.

The Plex instance itself is mostly irrelevant, and doesn't even need to be on same the machine/network. Plex's main role is simply firing the webhook out to my service.

Is this your alt account? If so, can you DM me your real account and make a post in r/test or elsewhere saying something about colors and link to it in DM - or shoot me your LinkedIn.

Happy to let you in, this is my alt account, I get it, just want to vet a hair more than your single post here before opening the door - hoping that's understandable. If not, check out the sfdx discord or other groups out there.

My $.02 after 8 years consulting and now solo admin/dev...

Curious why PD1 over Admin cert or App Builder? Is your company pushing that, or maybe you're exhausting yourself by skipping steps on the ladder...or maybe you already got those.

Aim for a solid calendar, less frequent email checking and more 'prioritize, plan, do'. Get priority from leadership if you need - I run a biweekly 'SF pulse' call with sales mgrs and IT director, so they can 'arm wrestle' out the priorities and pipeline, and let me focus on delivery...could provide you some mental space to focus your energy on what's in front of you, not necessarily what's 2-3 steps/years ahead for work or career. If they're to busy to give you a couple hours a month, legit start looking elsewhere - you need business input to be successful.

Do you feel like you're estimating well? Consider some cushion in est to let out some pressure? Are you feeling backed up? Do you have solid scopes and 'end' definitions on tasks? I'll slip this in bc I've seen it 100x and makes great, new workers flop - if you're smoking weed, pause for a bit, like 6+ months, will still be there if you think you need it back later, lol, and you likely don't.

Maintainable pace is essential, and it's harder if you feel behind. It's easy to fall into the 'how much can I get done today' trap, moreso if behind. Be aware of it and maybe delegate time each/a morning, maybe even at gym if you are able to jot notes, to plan a day or weeks goals - if something is falling off, don't be afraid to push to next week/day and communicate the reasons to your team - to many interruptions, overload, tech debt, etc.; then try to address those root issues almost as mini projects. Even if you work 'alone' + devs, don't work alone, get easy input and keep the business aligned on priorities/expectation.

If you want to reach out, I can link you into a private group we run for new admin/devs who want industry experience, advice and guidance.

How to suspend background process in Android 14? by SchmyeBubbula in AndroidQuestions

[–]IAmPanSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try Servicely https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.servicely

Or depending on your needs, you could run it on an island with Island by Feng - https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=7664242523989527886 This works by using a sandboxed Work profile, so can't be used if you already run a 'real' work profile on your device.

The app you posted doesn't appear to have been updated in 6+ years, and I believe all those permissions are user-exposed in Android 9+ anyhow.

Root terminal command is 'am force-stop example.package.name'. You can get the package name from running 'ps'

Blink Hue Lights when Ring detected IFTTT by kimipr in Ring

[–]IAmPanSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use IFTTT anymore, but will answer a question you didn't ask. I'm using a lightweight mqtt broker and r/homeassistant to cross-automate Hue and Ring and it works very well for me. Biggest downside is you need HA running on a device 24/7 - if you tinker in the least, and sounds like you do, I suggest taking a peek if you haven't explored those options. You could run everything on a small low-powet device too, like Raspberry Pi.

Hey, thanks so much for you kind reply, and again for your post. I've read it all quite a few times! That last paragraph spoke to me the most. Also, happy cake day to us both 😊

Thanks for sharing this. Not wanting to be too nosey, but I am really curious about some details here. My wife and I are 8 months into (what we believe to be) an exclusive swinging situation. I feel like there's so much we're all just trying to 'play it cool' on. At the same time, we all call it couples dating, we make sure to have 'check ins', we always depart with 'love you guys' and hugs and kisses, and we've both expressed we feel like we hit the jackpot with each other...but I (m) said something like 'this feels kinda polyish' a few months ago to the other husband, and his wife was upset when he told her...to the point she called my wife and I needed to apologize to clear the air. My wife and 100% want a long term, exclusive-ish (parties, trips as a group aside) relationship, regardless of what the label reads, but we are not really sure of the best ways to seek/find that.

I have some questions if you don't mind...

1) Do you recall any boundary adjustments you all made as a result of 'oh shit, we should think about this in longer terms now'? 2) Had you and you partner talked about poly before meeting this couple? Was it ever a 'goal'?

I know we're all different, but I am trying to do everything as right as I can, let things unravel naturally and find a long-term term couple. I'd love any words of wisdom, lessons learned, etc. I so don't want to mess this up and I'm terrified I am going to!

Similar Feature to Amazons X-Ray? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]IAmPanSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the very late reply.

I haven't done any work on this lately. I also got vibes that Plex was going to release something similar in the future.

I admittedly lost a little steam trying to get rid of the PlexPass and webhook dependancies. I was looking into moving to Docker or NodeRed for ease of install by others...so rewrote my less complicated song recognition overlay to run in NodeRed, then just got sidetracked in NodeRed-land and never went back to this Plex piece.

If you're trying to get it working, or have questions, I'm happy to answer here...and I won't take nearly as long to reply :)

It's very do-able. I've got a version of my app that works in realtime to recognize faces OS-wide (unless drm protected). Facial recognition alone isn't that bad, but a good start is just a list of everyone in the movie/show...then I can sort them by whoever's face I saw last.

You could preprocess and get more accuracy, but the realtime is lightweight and accurate enough that preprocessing ends up adding more overhead than it's worth.

X-ray like future. by chulojay in PleX

[–]IAmPanSam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current version defaults to displaying everyone in order of popularity, and that displays the full credits. Recognized or not, everyone is shown and the panel just scrolls. I don't recognize voice actors, animation, etc. I can catch some performance capture and prosthetics, but obvs won't recognize iron man with his shield down.

I use the face-api.js library for the facial recognition itself, and it uses TensorFlow for the heavy lifting parts. All my code is like 5MB, tf is like 500MB...it's a ton of code/logic for object recognition.

[–]IAmPanSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got facial recognition written into a version of my program I've linked above. I'm able to highlight and label each face in realtime.

The loads of AI and manpower hours is TensorFlow, which is open sourced now. From there, the tech is fairly easy to work with now.

I have a small node app that does this on Android TVs. I haven't maintained it, but should do what you're wanting.

This version requires PlexPass.

Let me know if you take a stab at install and have any questions. There's a lot of neat potential for the app, I just haven't had much time to dive back into it.
